ROYAL NAVY CALENDAR - FIVE STARSFULL DISCLOSUREOK, I'm not ex-military and not a military historian, so these are the views of a wimpy civilian who thinks a battleship can be sunk by shouting B5, B6, B7!GOOD POINTS - Lots of them:+ Not available on the high street, so more likely to be a unique gift+ Well-packaged (cardboard stiffening and plastic shrink-wrap) so should arrive pristine+ Just enough room to annotate each day of the month, with a summary for the previous and next month on each page+ Landmark events are picked out in the calendar, such as Capture of Gibraltar and Mary Rose sinks+ Large format pages (12 x 12 inches) so images are large+ Heavy (cartridge) paper so should last+ Semi-gloss finish - so it looks good, but you can still write on it without smudging!+ Bonus poster with details of the Royal Navy fleet, aircraft, and Royal Marines+ Good range of BIG high quality photos of modern ships, submarines, aircraft and personnel - two per month+ Genuine Navy photos, copyright the Crown+ If you just want the pictures, can be hung folded in half (although you'll lose a bit)+ Made in Britain AND printed in Britain (not printed abroad and just assembled in Britain)+ Green credentialsBAD POINTS - nothing major:- Semi-gloss paper, so it doesn't make the best of the photos- Pulling out the bonus poster removes 50% of June and July- It hangs from a small central hole, easily torn- Not a lot of room to annotate days with YOUR landmarks!- Needs a lot of room to hang properly (1ft x 2ft)- 12 months only, not 15 months, not even a summary for 2025 to simplify forward-planning- Modern, mainstream vessels only, don't expect any oddities or oldiesCONCLUSIONGreat if you're interested in warships, with visual impact, and lots of historical and technical details. This official Royal Marines calendar 2024 is a good quality calendar featuring different aspects of Royal Marines world.The nice thing about this calendar is by purchasing one of these calendars is that you help create native woodland in the UK and provides habitat for wildlife and green spaces for everyone to enjoy.The calendar is made of good quality paper and each page has a month view and there are spacious day blocks so plenty of from for writing birthdays, appointments and any other notes.All major holidays are listed and there is a small copy of the last month’s calendar and the next months calendar in the bottom right of the month page, there is also a free bonus pull out poster, featuring 42 commando in a joint personnel recovery exercise.All in all a great calendar for those interested in the Royal Marines and the Royal Navy and it’s made in Britain.
