what a cliffhanger!!!
Lor has suffered twelve years under the Aurora King's rule, longing for escape and revenge from Nastrasa. Suddenly freed by the rival Sun King, she must compete against nine Tributes for the queen's crown. Winning means freedom and vengeance, but Lor is an outsider in the Sun Queen Trials. The other Tributes resent her and will do anything to eliminate her. Lor must win, face death, or return to the vengeful Aurora King. This was recommended to me by a friend, and it was soo good and I'm so glad I read (listened to) this! The characters were so well developed, and so funny, which is a huge plus for me in a book! The world building and pacing of the book were also really strong and all I wanted to do was keep reading. The trials to "win" the Sun King were very unique and really brought the whole story together. The plot twists were twisty and the villians were unexpected, but all the elements worked so well together to make this book what it was.Lor was the perfect FMC, and she played her role in this book so well. She's so resilient and determined, especially when it comes to her family. Atlas was also a great MMC, he fit being a king to a TEE. Then we have Nadir, who we get bits of pieces from but I cannot wait to see what happens in the following books. Overall, definitely recommend and onto book 2!Rating: 4/5Spice: 2/5Tropes:Strong FMCEnemies to LoversWho Did This to YouHidden IdentifyDeadly TrialsMagic

slow but steady.
It was ok. Not the best because of the slow pace and the predictable plot but a nice background book

top freaking TIER đ
This series has me in a literal chokehold. Each page, each chapter, each book is better than the last. And thatâs saying a lot cause all of them are SO GOOD! I love this story, I love the effortlessness of the world building. I love the banter Lor has with herself in her head. Itâs so easy to relate to her and her inner dialogue. Nadir is a TOP TIER mmc. I love all the blossoming relationships building for the side characters. And Gabriel really grew on me in this one. I was so proud of him for what he did. This series is my current Roman Empire đ đźIf youâre wondering if you should read it, YOU SHOULD!!!!And itâs completed đ

So promising. Massive in-continuity.
This was such a great story. Unfortunately, the author made huge mistakes in this book.SpoilersQueen Cerce:She was never a Queen. The continent knew her as Primary and Princess of Heart There was only one witness to what she did, Cloris. While Cloris could have spread the rumors, she claims she was hiding. It doesnât make sense that the story became a universal truth without witnesses. In her last moments she gave birth to Lorâs mother and witnessed her become Primary. Cerce believes this means she is Queen and steals her motherâs crown (which is missing a piece, and is essentially broken). This is supposed to be the act that triggers fifty years of lost power for everyone on the continent. However, she didnât actually steal the power. Cloris claims that the Primary power leaves her and goes to Lorâs mother, leaving Deadra as Queen. SoâŚno stolen power.Cerce then goes on to bind herself to Wolf. Weâve been told that the destruction in Heart is the consequence of this action of binding two Primaries together without the proper changes to the ceremony. How can this be a problem if she is no longer the Primary and her mother is still the queen? The whole background of Heartâs destruction falls apart. The Staff also shows Lor a vision of what went down in those final minutes. This story jives with Clorisâ version. So there is no way out for the author there.Tyr:The true Sun King is held prisoner by Atlas. The Warders are kept in check by Atlas forcing his cooperation in binding them through the torture of his lover, Gabriel. This is supposed to have broken him and made him do whatever Atlas tells him. This is completely unbelievable. Atlas tortures Gabriel to make Tyr order the Warders under his control. Why wouldnât Tyr just tell them to free him and kill/capture Atlas? Atlas has no offensive power, is not even the Primary, and is easily subdued by the Warders at the end. There are several more smaller inconsistencies, but it just ruins it.I gave this three stars because I am holding out hope that the author finds some way to fix these mistakes in the fourth book. She is very creative and good be great.

So close to 5 âď¸
Loved the history but it was kind of too much for one book. Still can't get enough of Nadir, and the multiple POVs. Top tier series all in all so far â¤ď¸

That cliffhanger !!!! Love this series !
Fate of the Sun King (Artefacts of Ouranos #3) by Nisha J. TuliWith the Heart Crown now in her possession, Lor must navigate the dangers of being an heir on the run, knowing more than one power-hungry ruler is after her blood.Rating: *****Feels: Invigorated, Excited, Motivated, Devastated !!!Style: Fantasy, Romantasy, Fae, Magic, High FantasyFirst published June 4, 2024 by Forever / 556 pagesI keep falling more in love with this series. The way the characters are written and evolve. Seeing Lor come into her own and the amazing slow burn romance .. *swoons*. This book was more fast paced and really had so much more of the puzzle pieces fall into place which made it so satisfying to read. I felt like we were being given the story plus pieces of what we would need to fit everything together and it just fit together so seamlessly. Some truly staggering revelations about the history of Ouranos and some of the players in this story. I had a hard time putting this book down. Cant wait for the final installment because ...
