The knife is solid and the edge holds up very well. We haven't had a particular instance to test the tip, but we also don't look to break them so we don't know until there's a unique situation. The handle has a good design and the grip is excellent. The locking mechanism is far better than average and allows for a much safer stow than the countless cheaply designed mid-range folding knives. The one complaint there is plastic components, they should have been metal. I also would say it's grip can catch occasionally on clothes, but overall it's a good trade for the utility when younuse it. We are a scout family that does a ton of outdoor activity, and can definitely say the quality of this blade is far better than competitors in it's price range.

The greatest knife for any use.

Well, the blade is good, the coating on the outside of the handle is very corse, it tend to stick to all clothing except leather. The leather it just acts as sand paper. SO, i put this one in the backpack.

Excellent knife by SOG. I’m happy to see that company has moved away from the mass marketing on their knives. If it didn’t say SOG at least in four places so you did forget what brand it was lol. Stay this course SOG and your products will continue to be incredible. I would say the lock release and toggle are made of plastic as well as the thumb studs. I would like to see those in metal and not plastic in the future but that should not persuade anyone from buying this product.

I love the size, sharpness, and shape of the blade. It’s solidly built. My first issue is the pocket clip is too close to the seatbelt cutter cut out, so it’s difficult to clip it to your pocket. I feel a longer pocket clip would go a long way as an improvement. Also, you can never count on the seatbelt cutter unless you ALWAYS keep your knife scalpel sharp. Most won’t do that. It feels like a gimmick they added for sales. All in all, it’s a solid knife. I carry it daily, but SOG can definitely make some improvements.

Really like these knives. Not expensive and sees light use just in the pocket for camping so not used a zillion times per day. I did like the feel of the older model more but they don’t make it anymore and I lost the 2 I had. Solid spring assist action. Blade is sharpe enough and the size is good for staying in a pocket. It’s a solid choice to carry everywhere when camping. I wouldt use it as a survival knife or to baton wood for example. But for an always available knife, cutting rope etc it’s great. Has a built in cutter for seat belts / cord and also a lock out safety.

This is the third one I have purchased I worn them out in the past 20 or more years they still useable but got slack in the mechanical parts well worth every penny
