Effective and comfortable upgrade
The Hogue HandAll provides a noticeable upgrade to the Shield/Shield Plus. The grip enhances ergonomics and feel with a softer surface and finger grooves. It’s a substantial upgrade over the gritty standard grip. It will feel much better in the palm for larger handed individuals and give all sizes a more secure grip. Beyond comfort, anyone using the flush fitting magazines will have a more solid grip with this upgrade. The installation instructions provided are a bit obtuse. I simply heated the grip with a hairdryer and sprayed the inside with window cleaner. It was fairly easy to stretch over the grip once heated and “lubed” up. I would recommend this purchase to any Shield owners looking for a more comfortable and secure grip on their firearm. This is an inexpensive and effective solution!

Easier To Install Than Expected
I'm an old guy who doesn't have the grip and arm strength that I used to, so after seeing several YouTube videos of people struggling to install HandAlls, I expected trouble. Even Hogue's own video was not encouraging. BUT, although it took a while, installation wasn't that hard. I put the HandAll into very hot water for about 2 minutes, took it out, dried it, and stretched it manually. Then I used a strip cut from the plastic package to ease the HandAll onto the grip as recommended in the instructions. The instructions recommend using a strip on each end of the grip, but I only used one at the trigger end of the grip. I slipped the beavertail side of the HandAll over the bottom of the backstrap and then stretched the HandAll and pushed it over the plastic strip and on to the trigger end of the grip. Once the HandAll was over the bottom of the grip, I pulled the strip out from the bottom. Then I just slowly moved the HandAll up the grip a little at a time by holding it tightly and pulling and pushing until the grip was fully in place. I did not need to lubricate with Windex as suggested by the instructions. The grip is securely in place now. My old skin is thin, so my main motivation for installing a HandAll was that I found the texture of the pistol's grip to be uncomfortably rough, and SUCCESS! the HandAll covers up most of the rough patches. An added bonus is that the HandAll slightly enlarges the pistol's grip, which gives my large hands a better feeling hold.

Fit my s&w m&p shield 9 perfect
Fit perfectly. If you struggle to put it on, use a blow dryer or leave it sitting above a pot of boiling water/tea pot. Just a little heat makes it real easy to install

Big improvement – Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus 9mm - Use this and not the Shield 45 grip
I have big hands and prefer a smaller CCW. My other CCW is a Ruger LC9S. I have a Pachmayr rubber grip on that and a Hogue grip on my Glock 19. . My S&W Shield Plus needed some extra padding to better position my long forefinger on the trigger, provide a thicker grip, and to give a more tactile feel than the OEM stippling, good as it is compared with Glock for example. I had read in the forums from 2 and 3 years ago that Hogue, at that time, actually recommended the Shield 45 grip for a better fit on the Shield Plus and this is what I tried initially. The problem with the 45 grip is that the finger groove at the top is slightly too narrow and my middle finger didn’t fit between the lip and the trigger guard without being squeezed. I then later saw in grip images that the Shield Plus grip had a lower finger lip, which would better fit my finger. I’m guessing that the Shield Plus dedicated grip was made available AFTER the forum comments? It was first available, according to Amazon, in September of 2023, 1.5 years ago. . Fitment required a cup of boiling water, a thin, narrow spoon handle, some window cleaner (I only had Ammonia free), and very unlike the shield 45 grip, much less dexterous manipulation. In fact, it slipped on to the gun grip almost without effort. Soak the grip for 5 minutes and then dry and stretch it. Back in the water for a few more minutes. Remove from the hot water, dry and stretch the beaver tail onto the gun grip as far as it’ll go, having lubed the gun grip and inside of the Hogue grip with the window cleaner. Insert the spoon handle into the Hogue grip and lever it onto the front end of the gun grip, stretching the rubber forward. Then slide the front edge of the Hogue grip over the spoon handle and onto the gun grip. Pull out the spoon without letting the rubber slip off the gun. Now, it’s a matter of working the rubber grip fully onto the gun grip. Eventually you’ll get it into position and then you can use the parting lines on the rubber molding to align with those on the polymer frame to center the grip, front and back. . It was a real workout with the 45 grip as the rubber is quite a bit smaller than the gun grip in its free state. The Shield Plus grip is also, but just slid on fairly easily once over the gun grip. It’s not as tight a fit. I’m hoping that when the glass cleaner dries fully, the grip doesn’t move. The 45 grip was absolutely rock solid on the Shield Plus and the only way I could remove it was to roll it off, peeling down from the top edges and beaver tail, turning it inside-out. It didn’t get damaged at all and looked brand new when I returned it. Hogue grips are indestructible! . I’m impressed with the grip. The rubber is grippy and cushioning, and the bulk fits my hand much better than stock, especially widthwise, and my trigger finger is now parallel to the axis of the gun when the pad is on the trigger. The fit is perfect and the gun looks impressive. For now, I’m taking off 1 Star until I know the grip isn’t going to move around when dried. My Hogue Glock grip, after 10 years and more, is a little loose and moves slightly at the range. I don’t recall it being much of a struggle to get on either, but that might be my poor memory. . I certainly recommend Hogue grips but don’t give up trying to fit them if you find them tight! Use a narrow, thin spoon handle!

Excellent grip sleeves.
The Hogue Beavertail grip sleeve fit my S&W MP Shield Plus perfectly. Takes a little effort and a little heat from a hair dryer. The grip feels good, however the main reason I put one on my gun is the surface of the grip that comes with the gun plays havoc with my shirts. The shirt sticks to the surface of the grips and when you stand up it clings to the grips and its very easy to tell you are wearing a gun. Hopefully, this will solve that problem. I own several Hogue grips and it is a very good product.
