Are these actually good for elastic nipples?

Yes. Soft silicone holds the areola in place and lets the nipple travel freely in the tunnel which is true-to-size. For best comfort: add lubricant in the tunnel, use the flip-back trick for a snug seal, start on low suction and gradually increase.

Do these fit many different breast pumps?

Cushy Flanges attach directly to many Medela/Lansinoh setups. For Spectra, Motif, and Cimilre, use our widemouth base connector. For Baby Buddha, Zomee, NCVI, Ardo, Ameda & Unimom Opera, you need specific connectors (check our video).

They feel long or heavy. Will they tip or slip?

Lactation consultants recommended a longer tunnel so nipples can move freely, especially elastic ones. Heavier than hard plastic, lighter than Lacteck. Seat the tapered base ~½″ into the connector and set empty bottles flat to prevent tipping.

Why did I feel pain or get no letdown?

Most often it’s size, suction, or setup. Re-check your size, add lubricant in the tunnel, try the flip-back method, start on low suction and increase slowly. Also, inspect valves/membranes and seals for wear and tear or leaks.

Are they similar to Pumpin’ Pals or Lacteck flanges?

While all three flanges are made of silicone, Cushy Silicone Flanges are closest in shape and function to standard hard plastic flanges. They are true to size (unlike Pumpin Pals which are in size ranges) and are thinner and lighter than Lacteck.
