Wagner's 76029 Black Oil Sunflower Seed Wild Bird Food, 40-Pound Bag

I go through a lot of sunflower seeds filling my bird feeder. This 40 lb bag is a great value and the best part is that I don't have to go to the store and lug a 40 lb bag of sunflower seeds into the car! I could not believe Amazon shipped this for free. Sometimes I can find as good a deal price-wise as this locally, and rarely even a bit cheaper even, but not often. And I think the price is still worth having the free delivery! The seeds seem fresh and the birds (and squirrels and chipmunks!) love them.

Good quality, not many pieces of non-edible materials.

Have purchased Wagner's Black Oil Sunflower Seed many times over years--backyard birds love them, and flock to our seed ball. Bought this 40 lb. sack just in time for holidays, and the birds are loving their treat! Though a few small twig pieces may exist in every sack, this supply proves to be fresh and fine in quality. The price is amazingly low and I feel lucky to have found this bargain. Thank you, Amazon!

I started using only the black sunflower seeds in my feeders because the other seeds created a total mess of weedy plants sprouting under the feeders. The birds (and squirrels) love these and I am now seeing more varieties of birds than before. Last year, I even let a few of the sunflowers that sprouted grow to bloom. The only thing I noticed with this most recent bag was that it had a high concentration of chopped up twigs and other seeds and corn mixed in. About 1/5 of this bag was not black sunflower seeds, it consisted of chopped up twigs and assorted other seeds/corn. I'm guessing that I just got a bad batch scraped from the bottom of the barrel because all my previous bags had been fine. I'll still continue to order and see if this was a one off bad bag or a new trend.

I've never ordered a large bag of sunflower seeds before, but price was right for this one. The birds seem to love it and I've seen a couple breeds that haven't been feeding in past years. It's not top quality, but works well for what we need!

Seeds are kind of small which works better anyway in the feeder I am using. There appears to be no debris or waste in the seed. The 40 lb bag was actually cheaper than the 25 lb bag of the same brand and as result was much cheaper per lb. I guess not everyone wants to fool with a bag that heavy.

The birds love this in the feeder.

This is a really good clean seed compared to some. I don't mind seeing a few sticks and the birds even like to play with them. But it is for eating, not playing and some companies just overdo it with "Stuff" in their seed, sort of like it spilling out and someone picking it back off the grown and putting in the bag all over again. The price fluctuates royally, so what you see is what you will get. Keep your eye on prices. Sometimes you get a good deal. But it is a reputable company, and ok most times on their sticks.

Everything that I expected at a great price. Birds and squirrels love it, while we enjoy watching them.

We've had a lot of birds come through the yard since filling the feeder with black oil sunflower seeds. Unfortunately, this brand includes a lot of woody bits, so the birds will scatter it everywhere looking for the good stuff...
