After few times material cracked only because of oven heat. Very disappointed.

As with many items these days shop do not stock them. Thank goodness for Amazon as you more or less get what you want. Excellent product and they do work to prevent burns to wrists and arms in and out of the oven.

These are exactly what I was looking for. Saw several other ones ( in red ) on Amazon, but when I read the description, they were either safe to 400 or 450 degrees. I bake pastries and many times my recipes call for baking at 475. I saw these were rated to 500 so I ordered them. Do they stay cool enough to grab without using oven mitts................NO............. but at least it won't burn your skin if you go to grab a second cookie sheet off the rack below. Took two seconds to attach to my racks. I will STRONGLY suggest you wash them in soap and water BEFORE you put them in your oven. If you don't, you will smell and see smokey residue ( and a lot of it) being baked off them. This happened several times so I removed & washed them, and no more smell or smoke.

Brilliant little product! Came across these by chance when looking for something else on Amazon (I'd no idea such things existed) and bought a pack to try out on the main oven of my range cooker. Instant success! Meant to buy more for the shelves in the other compartments but forgot until last week when I burned my thumb on a shelf in the other oven. Have now bought more and fitted them on all the shelves, including the spare one I occasionally use when batch baking. They're easy to fit, they stay put and they work. Oven shelf burns may be trivial but they hurt and they're ugly. This solves the problem for the price of a pack of burn plasters - what's not to like?.
