It's perfect, not for beginners to programming.
Incredible book. Answer to just about any question you might have on MVC with great examples and justification.I've noticed some people are complaining that it doesn't have step by step tutorials through out the course of the book, those people should read the title of the book "PROFESSIONAL" ASP.NET MVC5.I've been developing for just over 5 years, new to MVC. I've just created an application, as I go through the book I apply what I learn to my application. It is very digestible and I highly recommend it if you're an experienced developer that can wrap your mind around new technology.

Very good Book for the ASP.NET professionals
Wrox Professional series is the favorite one for me. As expected this is also to the highest standard (well organized) for the professionals. This books suits for the ASP.NET professionals not only for MVC but for those who are in Webforms developments.

Useful MVC book for experienced developers
This book is useful for experienced developers who need to get up to speed with MVC. I worked through a few tutorials and books during the early releases of MVC but was not particularly impressed with the framework. A couple of years later, the MVC framework has matured and has lots of useful features to boost developer productivity. This book is great background reading for experienced developers embarking on their first ASP.net MVC project. The first few chapters get you started at a fairly gentle pace but it is the more detailed sections on security, forms, routing and binding that provide professional developers with ideas for real-life scenarios. Thankfully, that tribal MVC vs webforms rivalry seems to have faded and the latest versions of Visual Studio will allow the developer to add new MVC functionality to a legacy webforms application. Anyone interested in working with SPAs will find useful content on Web.api and Angular. As with all professional course books, this one assumes some web development knowledge rather than starting from scratch. The well balanced content covers theory, tutorials, best practice and relevant code snippets and should appeal to webforms developers.

Book is OK, but not required reading
Although there is nothing wrong with this book - it is well-written and gets you swiftly up to speed with MVC 5 - you should get just as well up to speed by reading the "Getting Started with ASP.NET MVC 5" tutorial available for free at the ASP.NET documentation website. The book is hardly any more in-depth.

Good Book
One of the better books out there, ideal for someone coming from webpages who knows C#
