I have had this light for 3+ years and bought to use on my sewing machine and I have used it a lot while working on my vehicles and fixing several things like dishwasher, plumbing projects, dragging it through the dirt, etc and it has held up extremely well.

Well worth the money for getting light in tight places. Magnetic base and flexible neck make positioning light exactly where you need it.

I got this to use for a light on my reloader it works great! It's bright, easy to turn on and off and it's small so it doesn't take up alot of space on my bench

I'm using this on my 10" lathe.It is a nice size that you can place it close to the work and still be out of the way.

Great little light for the price.Mounted it to my bandsaw for detail work; clean, white light, not too bright and perfect for the 1ft range I needed.Gooseneck is watertight and fully flexible, and stays put.

Well I was afraid of this. Although this light is nice and bright, flexible and so on my Bernina Activa 220's plastic case is useless when it comes to magnets. Ha! The power cord is not very long so I've got things kinda rigged up a bit wonky. So this is a nice light but be aware of your sewing set up before getting this for that purpose.

I got these sewing machine lights for my mom in hopes to help her see as she is sewing. From the picture I thought these lights would be able to stand on their own and attach to a sewing machine. These are magnetic and attach very well to a sewing machine however they do not stand on their own so that was very disappointing. I was hoping she would be able to use them not only on her sewing machine but in other areas of the house but that doesn't seem to be the case since the Beast of this is too small to hold it without being attached to something magnetic. But when you plug it into the wall it's very bright so it really will help anyone regardless of vision to see much better.

I love it. I bought two more as gifts. It is bright and easy to move around for tasks.

Based on some of the reviews, I was apprehensive about this light but it is surprisingly good. For me, the magnet is super strong and hasn't failed me yet in all sorts of angles. Of course, I probably won't be moving the magnetic base much as it will be permanently attached to my band saw. The goose neck is very stable and only time will tell if it will remain so or lose it. The light is very small, just enough to illuminate about a 2" by 2" area increasing the illumination enough to cover shadows to perform precision cuts. Just enough to illuminate the sewing area on a sewing machine, or the cutting area on a band saw or the drilling area on a drill press. I did not notice any overheating but I have only used it to light a couple of dozen cuts so not sure about that. The electrical cord seem functional and seems to hold up nicely but I haven't used it much so only time will tell.As for the negatives, most aren't negatives if one bothers to inspect the picture in the description. Yes, the light is tiny but it's made for a sewing machine to eliminate shadows for precision sewing. So it's supposed to be that way. It does not illuminate much because it's not supposed to. It needs to eliminate shadows for precision. If it were bright, it would be annoying (I know, I was using a light way too bright before). The length of the gooseneck is very short. It's in the description! Look it up and see if that's what you want. Anyways, you don't really need a long gooseneck since you can put the base almost anywhere there's metal (which should be most places on the sewing machine...your machine is metal, right? Magnets work on it, right?) In this case, I like it short. I place the base exactly where I need it (the band saw is all metal) and drop the gooseneck exactly where I need it a few inches from the spot I will cut. The electrical cord is too short? Read the description and/or buy a cheap 1$ extension cord. The only real negative is that I think it is a little expensive but I chose to buy it, so I guess that's on me.Anyways, the light works great for me so far. It might break in the future. Time will tell.

I expected this to be rather flimsy but in hand it actually feels quite solid.It is the correct brightness for what I need.The magnet hold it on solidly. Does not feel like a slight bump would knock it off.I would recommend this if you need specific task lighting (Sewing machine, drill press etc.)Note: It is not designed to stand on it's own. You need to use the magnet to attach it to something.

Great bright light that's easy to mount on any metal surface with a strong magnet. Would definitely buy again.

Use it for my sander. Really bright light and easy to move around sander as necessary.

Good price for this product, very strong magnet, ample lighting and illumination spread. I purchased this for my mini lathe (not limited to sewing machines) and find it to be perfect for this application. I would recommend.
