I selected these 4mm round red/purple Tourmalines weighing 1.23 carat for this pretty ring. They are all eye clean clarity. The gems contrast beautifully with the silver. Rubellite is a color of Tourmaline that sometimes occurs naturally in this color but is usually irradiated and heated to obtain this color, however, there is no way to verify this because there is no trace of irradiation left, a safe enhancement.
