This masculine design is a variation of one of the most popular style of gents ring in the world, design # 52 with the added streamlined engraving. These grooves are cut in brightly by hand in a parallel design that enhances the entire surface. A great design for wearing a solitary gem. A full bezel around the gem ensures the most secure mount available. The head of the ring is hammered out, expanded to allow for the size of the underside of the gemstone. The band slopes from the head to the back in a curve and is built heavy. This design is known to be very comfortable, showcases the gem well and is secure at the same time. The gem is an untreated Star Ruby with no leaded glass filler, no heat, 4.61 carat, 9.2 x 7.4 x 5.9 mm oval cabochon. This star is natural rather than diffused, complete with six rays, is medium in brightness, is well centered and is medium in sharpness. This gem is opaque, is heavily included, and has surface flaws yet the star overwhelms the look. It was mined in Africa. Fast fact: Most African Ruby is repaired by filling voids with a leaded glass.
