Would this be suitable for use on the end of the bed to get closer to the TV? Thanks!

Hello I would have thought so. I am really impressed with mine and use it on chairs, benches and on the bed. I have spine problems and often use this on the bed (headboard end) to watch TV. However, the back does not need to rest on the headboard so I would have thought you could use it the other end too. I hope this helps

Will the cushion flatten?

I use this cushion for over one year every single day. It is so good built, I just enjoyed. Supports my back very well. it will no go flatten.

It’s about the same size as those waiting room chairs or the desk chairs I had for college. It’s not small or particularly big. If that helps at all. It is really comfortable. I bought it to sit for long hours crocheting. I wouldn’t personally find it comfortable to completely cross my legs but would usually have a loose cross on them. Depends on how you meditate.
