I use it to supplement my child’s summer fun. Admittedly, not daily, but I’ve already seen progress. They can logically deduce sentences and are much less likely to just guess words rather than sound them out. I really would recommend it for anyone willing to pitch in a little to make sure their kids stay on track. I will say my child tests slightly above average for their age, so if you’re worried about difficulty it may take a bit more focus for a struggling child—but I do believe it’s completely doable for a child with a grasp of phonics and a helpful adult. The stories the kids read each week are simple sentences with basic sight words (like “the,” or “this,”) and simple to sound out words that get taught throughout the prior lessons. I think it slowly builds great reading comprehension for the age range. I would also say if your child has a grasp on phonetics and combination sound rules, it teaches them to decode word sounds starting really small.
