Makes spraying weeds more effective.
Makes seeing where you have sprayed so easy. Just note that the color does go away fairly quickly. This is 2nd time we have purchased.

A good product, but be careful!
This marking additive for weed spray does the job really well, and seems reasonably priced. That said, it is not specific about what it turns blue. So, while it marks sprayed weeds in the lawn really well, so does it color other surfaces, such as driveways, walks, fences, mulch, stones, etc., so avoid spraying these type of surfaces. None of this is a negative about the product….marking is what we ask it to do! Wear protective clothing, old shoes (boots would be better), rubber gloves, and Do Not mix colorant or sit the sprayer on a good surface to avoid a spillage disaster. This is a good product, just use with care.

Does an O.K. job
Stains fingers, so be careful. Does not stay dark blue. Still can see it somewhat when dry. Does help when spraying.

Perfect!
This works extremely well when you are spot spraying your yard, or even broadcast spraying with a commercial sprayer. You may have to do some experimentation as to how much dye to use. My first attempt was too light on the dye, so it didn’t mark very well, so I upped the amount that I used and it marked my grass extremely well. Highly recommend.

First time to use dye
First time using this. Doesn't take much. Glad it easily washed off my hands. It worked when I sprayed the weeds. Next day could not tell what I had sprayed. Dye gone and weed not wilted not the next day. Will continue to use the dye and evaluate it.

Messy
The reason for 3 stars is the mess you will make when using this. You cannot avoid drips and stains when pouring into your sprayer. And it stains your shoes forever. And it is hard to clean out of your sprayer. It needs a better pouring spout or something. The only other thing I might add is it takes a few weeks for the color to fade. So I had blue stain all over my driveway for a while. At least it does indicate where you have sprayed so that you do not overspray.

Great option for your spraying
I had researched a few different dyes to use and I had not used this one. I went right to work mixing according to the documentation that is on the bottle. I did several spray tests to see how the color and impact would be on the grass and other materials. I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. The color was not too obnoxious but could be seen easily when spraying and would easily clean up from siding, wood, and rock materials I tested on. I then mixed 2 gallons for spraying the lawn and went to work. I found that the color was great and greatly improved my coverage as I could easily see where I had sprayed and the coverage of the spray. This was of importance as I was using new herbicide and wanted to make sure I was covering the plants well with the mixture. The dye really helped to see the coverage and I was able to adjust the mixture to perform better. I really liked this one for the price and it performs well. I would put it up against any of the other more expensive products.

Works great on dormant Bermuda.
I have a 26 gallon sprayer with a Master Mfg. boom attachment. I used 16 gallon of water, Prodiamine and 1/2 of the bottle of this blue spray marker to apply pre-emergent to my Bermuda lawn in late February. Since the grass was dormant, the blue marker was easy to see and I avoided missing any areas. I could see where people would have difficulty seeing it if you applied it to green grass. I usually apply pre-emergent in early Fall too and since the grass is still green during that application, I'm not sure that the marker would be as effective as it is in the Spring. I saw a number of people mentioning that you need to wear gloves to avoid getting the marker on your hands since it's so difficult to remove. Some areas of my yard have to be sprayed with a wand rather than using the boom. My wand sprayer started leaking while I was applying the pre-emergent, so I had the marker all over my hands. When I finished spraying, I thought I'd try some strong stuff to remove it. First I tried mineral spirits and then concrete cleaner for garage floors. Neither made any difference. I went in the house to wash off the strong solutions and used some Dawn dish washing soap and warm water and the marker came right off. Anyway, I can recommend this blue spray marker when treating dormant Bermuda lawns.
