Of testing TAMRON 150-600 mm is accomplished today ..I received The lens today and I put it to the test ..I was Testing this lens in overcast conditions which I usually like ....light was off and on suitable for shooting ....I happen to see 7 coyotes in one place .....5 in a group and 2 on the site ..they were playing running and walking ...I shot today at F10 and F11 at up to 400 ISO shutter speed was anywhere from 500 /sec to 2000 /sec ...I must say lens performed spot on ....when I was shooting bald eagles ....slightly tight glass ...by saying this I am used to to NIKON twice as size of tamron glass and with large glass F STOP CHANGES ...however this doesn't affect quality of glass but rather operator need to get used to....Quiet fast on focus and by holding shutter button and tracking birds In flight I was impressed that lens caliber of f5.6-6.3 was fast to capture details that well.....Ofocurse I would prefer more flexibility when it comes to lens barrel....it's slightly tight and when in a rush telephoto takes time to set it at 600 mm...I rather have more faster and more smoother pulling It out at 600 mmAND. YES lens do not have problem focusing at full extend 600 mm...rumors about not focusing well at 600 mm I must disagree ....there is a lots this lens could have been .....but then we talking $2000 price or more ........I will be honest it's a lots of work shooting and tracking birds in flight with it ..IT IS NOT FORGIVING LENS ......However this is PERFECT LENS for larger wildlife, moose, bears or wolves....anything smaller will have soft focus at fully extended ...This lens should never be PRIMARILY LENS to professional photographer ...very good as a backup lens and as a BEAR LENS ...love it with all my heart ...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED under above circumstances for $1000 dollars perfect ware .....I love silent focus and so smooth .....COSMETICS is another story .....it is NOT PRESTIGE look that NIKON offer ...it is very cheaply done and those who never owned NIKON wouldn't know difference ...REMEMBER this lens DO NOT REPLACE NIKON quality ....PHASE TWOComing soon as. The lens is an excellent addition to my arsenal for taking pictures. At first the lens felt heavy but I have become used to it and love the lens. Getting used to the settings required for different situations has been time consuming but worth it. This is a great lens and costs a fraction of a similar Nikon len/. I recommend this lens to anyone looking for a cost effective alternative.

I like this lens, it's not very heavy and takes crisp photos. One issue I found is that when I am outdoors and it's very humid the lens gets slower and slower to focus. This is not an uncommon problem for various lenses, but this lens is affected by that issue. I haven't had the opportunity to give the lens a thorough workout. So far, I like what I see. Weight doesn't appear to be a problem. I taken a few photos at 400mm hand held with good success. 600mm you're pushing your luck but works well on a monopod/tripod. Ask me again in about a month for a more rounded review.

The lens quality was excellent but when depressing the shutter to the half way point for focusing and activating the VR, there was a loud "clunk" that moved the shook the camera. Upon the advice of the Ritz customer assistant, the lens was returned. I hope what I experienced was an aberration and not the norm for the lens. I lost many bird photographs from the noise it produced.Aside from the issue described above, I recommend the lens and the company.

Lens arrived well packed with accessories as described in the package. The included backpack fits lens with camera, however one zipper already broke on the backpack and the lens cap connector does not stick well to the cap.

Folks, this is an outstanding buy. Zoom is what is exptected, however I'm really excited about the quick focus with the Nikon D5100. Point, focus and shoot. Great shots for not being a experienced photographer. I highly recommend it as an upgrade to anyone looking to expand their lens collection. Extremely satisfied!

Very good images with a wide range of Zoom. Easy to operate with easily accessible switches for Vibration control and manual /auto focus.The Zoom and manual focus rings are conveniently places and operate smoothly.
