A rollercoaster ride through a dark, evil and vile landscape that I literally couldn't put down!
James/Kirk and Rose/Silver meet when Rose awakens surrounded by men tearing her clothes off, groping and beginning a sexual assault on her. Just when Rose knows there is no hope, Kirk walks in on the assault and puts a stop to it, immediately. She perceives his power, rolling off him and naively believes she's been spared only to discover she has gone from the frying pan into the fire.Rose is stripped of everything that is hers, including her identity and is forced to choose her new name, Silver. She's informed she will become a sex slave and Kirk will be her new master. The story is brutal and difficult to imagine anyone how anyone can survive such an ordeal without breaking the soul. This story is not for the faint of heart and has graphic violence that's truly hard to read. It makes you route for Silver at every turn. When she panics and attempts to flee she, of course, is caught and punished by being whipped. It is written to describe the event including every horrific, graphic detail.Just when you believe Kirk is the devil himself, he breaks character just long enough to whisper an entreaty to Silver in the midst of her whipping. It comes just as she is about to be broken and Kirks whispers, "Bend, don't break!" which gives her just enough to hold on through the worst of it.Kirk is a multifaceted character whom I suspected early on had something innately good lurking under the hard as steel exterior. He does some subtle things to keep Silver safe and protected in an impossible situation and I found myself liking the devil himself. Though I would have loved more of this story because it seemed rushed at the end, it didn't detract from my love for this story.Skye Callahan is brilliant. She has written compelling, steamy, sexy characters and a page turner from start to finish. Be warned though that it is difficult to read at times due to the graphic scenes, but if you don't mind the violence, which may cause triggers in some, it is sublimely written and thoroughly enjoyable. To cover the horrid ordeal of human trafficking maybe it shouldn't lean on the light side at all because there truly are people living this every day and probably much closer than we know. So, if you prepare yourself for the brutality the story won't disappoint. Skye Callahan, Kudos, you are a brilliant writer and I loved this story!

Yes, Master
4.5 stars“Not listening is a good way to get yourself killed around here…”I don’t read too many dark romances and I ask myself, why! Maybe I need to dedicate the month of October to just those. I mean, it would seem appropiate, right? Once I started this book, I could NOT put it down. These dark reads play with your mind and emotions. How can you accept the person that has captured you and see them as your savior?“The only way you survive is if he keeps you”A little about this book:Kirk works in the sex trafficking industry and is the right hand man to one of the boss. He takes in this new meat and her name is Silver. This is about how she comes into this “resort” where they provide the clientele with women or “slaves” to perform for them. And we aren’t talking kabuki theatre here. S***’s about to go down and guess who’s in the middle of everything? Oh, no! I won’t tell. There are so many shady characters in this book, you won’t know who to hate more, I promise!“I’m keeping my mouth shut and stayin out of trouble”What I liked about this book:What didn’t I like. Even though Silver is an unpleasant situation, she manages to keep her snarky attitude. That girl got me laughing at her smart ass remarks! I might not be okay with the events that took place in the book but it made the story. Like I said before, I don’t read dark romances often, and honestly don’t know why. This book made me feel dirty, but in a good way, a really really good way. Not all of the sex is consesual but damn if it didn’t turn me on. And after reading this book, I think I need to go shopping for a butt plug. Preferably one with a jewel on it, simply because it’s pretty. Now if I can only find my own Kirk to do to me what he did to Silver, then I’d be golden! And Kirk, he’s…Jesus, that man. You now you’ve got issues when you want to be his “slave” and be there for his every needs. I’m getting excited just thinking about it.“Because I want you”What I didn’t like so much:In all honesty, there wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. Now I will say this: if you are not into nonconsensual sex, then this book is NOT for you. It has several scenes in which characters are to perform sexual acts and not out of their own free will. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I'd give it more stars if i could
This is the first book i've read by this author so wasn't quite sure what to expect. I picked up it thinking i'd read a few chapters.....that didn't go to plan. I didn't put it down. It sucked me in from the start. Silver goes to meet friends for a drink and the next thing she knows she's in the middle of a BAD situation. Before it gets any worse shes taken under the care of 'Master'. Silver is a stubborn, out spoken woman and i loved her attitude. Not knowing why this is happening or what's going to happen, Silver keeps pushing her limits with her 'master' despite the consequences. I loved this book. Enough dark to keep my sick depraved mind happy and a sprinkle of sweetness to even it out a bit, it had it all for me. I loved both main characters, the story was brilliant, and i loved the way it was written and how detailed specific parts were. I found myself holding my breath and chewing my cheek reading certain dark parts. Definitely needs to be read if you're a fan of dark romances, this is one of my favourite books this year.

Imagine having a nightmare...
... but waking up doesn't make the nightmare go away.Irrevocable follows the story of Rose, who after a night out with friends, wakes up, drugged and disoriented to a group of men who are about to rape her. When two new men arrive she is saved. One of the men, Kirk, agrees to take her to train for his own slave.I liked the main characters. Rose, who renamed herself to Silver while in captivity is clever, she does what she has to to survive, fierce and has a smart mouth.Kirk (I admit I giggled at the name at first, it is just not what I picture under sexy), does what he has to, to keep Silver alive and not get himself killed in the process."I can be reasonable, but you need to stop considering the impossible. You can't go home, you can't be. escape, and I can't let you go. It is what it is."Two tiny critic points: One of the nicer sex slavers was called Miles and the big bad boss was called Milo. I contantly confused the names, even though they couldn't be more different, character-wise.Second: Two thirds into the book it just didn't grip me anymore. The ending was great though. Maybe the beginning was just so awesome, that some parts of the story just couldn't keep up? I don't know. But I'll be following Skye Callahan's career from now on.

Words fail me - this is so good!
Loved it, I absolutely loved this book. I like to read dark romances but this was absolutely brilliant. If I could give it 10 stars I would, the pacing was great, the sex was hot, the writing was good, the guy was hot, I could go on and on and on. Like a lot of people I read a lot but this book is one of the best I have read in a long time. I honestly couldn't put it down, reading well into the early hours of the night. If you like dark romances - then you enjoy this immensely!

I really enjoyed it. The book keeps you on the edge ...
Irrevocable by Skye Callahan4 Stars This book is definitely intended for mature audiences only. This is a dark romance which includes pain and a lot of violence. Some people may not be able to handle it. With that out of the way, I really enjoyed it. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat. “Silver” wakes up to a nightmare. Her every instinct screams to fight but if she wants to survive, she will have to submit her body and will to her Master. She must accept the darkness if she ever wants to see the light again. Revenge will be hers. I don’t get dazed easily but there were parts in this story that actually shocked me. Silver is an amazingly strong woman who went through hell and back and survived. She bent but never broke.

Great read..
Irrevocable: An Abduction Dark Romance by Skye Callahan is the first book in the Serpentine Duet and my first read by this author. I will most definitely be reading the next in this series.Silver wakes up in a basement, surrounded by men she doesn't know and has no recollection of how she got there. There's no way she is going to make it out of there alive, is there?Kirk, doesn't want to see anything bad happen to Silver but can't let her go. He can protect her by making her his slave, will she see that he's trying to help? This was a great read. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a dark storyline. This one shocked me, had me cringing at some parts and wishing I could read through my fingers at others, didn't stop me from reading it though.
