I’ve only used it once and am pleased with the results. Easy to use face screen is easy to raise and it stays up when I needed it to. Ear protection is fair enough .

To be fair, I didn't fully test this by, like, dropping something on my head to throwing branches into my face. The comparison piece is a name brand helmet made by someone whose name starts with an H and ends with a bunch of letters that don't look like they should go together. Per a certified arborist, this one's actually better. I purchased multiples of this item for a storm cleanup job, to ensure each person was protected during cutting, dropping, and chipping. The helmet fits well, with multiple adjustable parts. The chin strap was promptly removed, with the hearing protection doing well to keep the helmet in place. A note on the hearing protection - you need to push on the metal pieces to snap them into place or remove them, not just the ear muffs. Once I figured that out, it got so much easier. The sweat strap holds an absurb amount of fluid, as tested by one of our group who sweats copiously, and the poor unfortunate souls who inadvertently picked it up by said sweat strap afterwards. (Literally the definition of the word moist. Ick.)

This helmet isn’t perfect, but for the price, it’s pretty amazing! If you compare this to the namebrand that cost four times as much, there’s not a lot that you can say bad about this helmet. Here’s what I love about it: Super quick and easy to assemble The headband adjust to lock it into place for a tight fit The face guard or screen is adjustable so you can push it out further away from your face The ear protection will flip up and rotate 180° and gives great protection from noise The helmet has six vents in the top of it to allow some cool air or circulation in it Here are the only two negatives that I have found with the helmet: Even though it has air vents, it gets incredibly hot. I haven’t used it out in the field yet, but I wore it around the house for about 10 minutes just to get an idea of the comfort and how well it would stay on me while moving around. It’s a plastic hardhat so there’s nothing you can do about that and it’s not a problem specific to this particular brand. They are all going to be the same in that respect. The biggest negative I have found with this helmet is the chin strap. It’s very thin and therefore very uncomfortable. Wearing it around the house for 10 minutes. It really dug into my face. I had a 5 o’clock shadow at the time as it was close to the end of the day and the next morning, I woke up with a little bit of razor burn type rash across the bottom of my chin where the strap had been. It would be a huge improvement to put a larger piece of soft material or leather there to help protect your chin. Aside from those two minor things this is a fantastic helmet. Again, I’ll remind you that I haven’t used it out in the field yet. I cut around 15 to 20 face cords of firewood every year but I do all of my cutting in the early spring when it’s still cool out. This helmet will definitely get a lot of use, and if I find it is not as good of quality as I thought prior to actually using it in the field I will come back and update this review. For the price though, it’s hard to beat this helmet considering the quality of what you are getting.

Good value. Works well. Comfortable fit. Good visibility thru mesh face shield. Earmuffs cut noise down quite a bit. Helmet liner has a lot of adjustments for depth, hard hat tilt and size.

Great and lightweight and saved be a bump on the head from a branch. Plus the chin strap allows you to look up without the helmet falling off.

This is a solid, well-built safety helmet to use while using a chain saw. This is a necessary piece of safety equipment, and this one does a great job. The included hearing proaction and face shield are welcome additions.

I got the cheapest chainsaw helmet I could find, since I have gone many years without one. I didn't expect much, at under $50. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I got this thing, to discover how good it is. It feels sturdy. The materials seem completely appropriate, not cheaply made. And the design and manufacturing is excellent, as far as I can tell. Everything fits together just right ... no looseness or sloppy assembly. For example, the face shield perfectly snaps down into place, easily, or up out of the way. You can feel it securing neatly in either position without drama, and no flopping around. Plus, the shield is adjustable in and out, towards your face or away. The fit adjustment is the neatest I have ever seen on any hardhat, and it is generously sized, too. I always set hardhats at work to the largest size, but this thing still had plenty more adjustment left. The ear muffs swivel back and stay put, and they snap down over your ears very nicely and firmly. The whole thing is extremely comfortable and sits securely on your head, feeling well balanced. The only thing I might change if I could is the fit of the chin strap. It is very comfortable, but tends to come loose, swinging forward. Maybe it should be mounted slightly further back. Or maybe I will still find a way to adjust that, too. I am completely happy with this purchase, and highly recommend it. Maybe a professional could tell us why you should spend more than this, but I don't see any reason to.

Good for hobbyist. I used this helmet to cut up firewood. I use this type of helmet at most twice per year. For that, it is perfect. Light duty, non professional duty. Great value.
