Very good product, highly recommend
Tried this out on the recommendation of a friend.I have not been disappointed. As with all cooler applications, Pre-chilling both the cooler and the contents is paramount for optimal performance. While the Arctic-Ice literature states that you can use it to completely replace the need for standard ice, I have found that for beer cooler/tailgating type use this does not work well. That said, what it does do is virtually eliminate ice melt within the cooler up until the phase change has completely occurred. I put 2-4 2.5lb panels in my K2 20 quart, along with ice and beer, and in my 65 quart Yeti use 2-3 of the 5 lb panels, plus ice and beer. Without having some ice in the cooler, there is too much airspace, which gets filled with warm air each time you open the cooler. This causes the panels to change phase more quickly than desired, and the beer to be slightly warmer than optimal. By using a combination of ice and Chillin Brew panels, you can achieve good ice to beer contact, with a minimum of air space. This will give you very cold beer, and good solid ice for 1 1/2 - 2 days, even with getting in and out of the cooler constantly. This works very well for me, as we typically spend all weekend on the lake, and I virtually never have to add ice to the cooler throughout the weekend. Alternately, if you are looking to pack food for a vacation, camping trip, etc, there is no need for ice, as you won't be getting in and out of the cooler. For this application I really like the panels much better than ice, because you don't end up with a watery mess. One trick I like to do is to put any raw meet in the bottom of the cooler (in plastic bags of course), then put a Arctic Ice panel laying flat on top of it, and put my other fresh items in the top (Fresh items also in plastic bags for safety). If you do happen to end up with a slight leak, the panels are dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze. I don't typically try to transport frozen items that absolutely need to stay frozen, nor do I care if my fresh items such as carrots, celery, get a bit frosty. For this reason I find the Chillin' Brew version of the panels to be the only variety of Arctic-Ice that I need. That said, if you want to strictly handle frozen items, or refrigerator temp items, you may want to look at either the Tundra series or Alaskan series.

i own others whithin the same family of product
UPDATE: First use. Let four of these frozen bad boys sit in my Yeti 20 with a 12 pack...dead on the money 28.5 degree. The beer was PERFECT. lives up to the claim of colder, longer, stronger, than ice or cheapo blu ice packs. Its does a specific job very well. Keeping 6%ABV beer or lower damn near frozen. Its backed up with scientific testing. visit pure temp website producer of the Phase Change Material used within the product. Its credible, its pricey but you get what you pay for, it is sized "'right" for coolers....it just fits. It does the job you ask it to do a million times without fail better than Ice just as it claims it does. would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Great ice pack
I love this ice pack. It remained frozen for many hours. I used it in a soft sided, freezable cooler as an extra ice pack. It made it through 6 hours and helped to keep all items in cooler frozen. Itโs thin enough to not take up too much room in cooler. Froze well and quickly. It seems super durable, but I guess time will tell!

Works well
I use a 5lb brick on the bottom and 2 2.5lb bricks one the side of my Rtic 30 soft cooler. The bottom brick stayed frozen solid on the drive from OK to VA even with an overnight stop. The two smaller bricks were no longer frozen when we stopped for the night but they were cold and remained cold for the duration of the trip. Our drinks and cold snacks stayed nice and chilled for the duration. I don't know if these actually work any better than other brands of these kind of things but the form factor is good and they seem to work as advertised.

Found a great use on accident for these
Bought a couple of the 2.5 pound sizes to use with my RTIC 20 soft-side cooler. Haven't ever used them in that yet. What I found out, quite by accident, is that they work great for keeping the temps cold in my travel-trailer refrigerator. In the past, it always struggled to keep things frozen in the freezer and stuff in the fridge cold. It did a descent job, but left a lot to be desired. I froze the ice blocks in my deep freeze before a trip and I was planning on using them in the RTIC 20. I wanted to keep them frozen for the 2 hour trip, so I threw them in the freezer of the trailer. Due to how the freezer worked in the past, I kinda had my doubts that it would keep them frozen, but it did. Not only that, but my freezer and fridge were at temps I expected, and it hardly ever runs. Making this discovery on accident, I now swap out two of the ice packs in the freezer / fridge. One in the freezer, and one in the fridge. When the one in the fridge melts, then I switch them again. Have to do it about once a day (probably twice when it gets hot), but it really makes the freezer and fridge in my trailer work a lot better, and run a lot less. Since I leave my trailer plugged in at my house all summer long, using these ice packs will probably save more in electricity in a year than what they cost since the fridge won't need to run nearly as often. I'm going to buy a couple of the 5-pound blocks because they will still fit in the fridge and should last an entire day before swapping even in the heat. As a bonus, I could used them in my RTIC 45 cooler too.

Better than expected, and very pleased
I used two in my cooler over the the summer, and it is wonderful to have something that works which does not make a mess. I am a local truck driver and used them everyday for the past 5 months without any leaks. My driving times vary so I have went 5 to 14 hours, and at 14 my water was not ice cold, but cold enough to still be refreshing after a long hot day. I have started out with room temperature water forgetting to put them in the fridge the night before, and it would get the water ice cold in about 2 hours, and still last late up in the day. They are more expensive them most of the others which caused me to hesitate at first. Not I am glad I did as they are well made, and keep your food or beverages cold for a long time. It is also important to note that the type of cooler you are using wil have an affect on them. I have a mid range cooler with hard sides and the top has a hard cover with a Velcro latch and have no complaints.

I expected more and didnโt get it.
Okโฆ I rated this product low because for the price, compared to all the other options, I expected much more out of it and that didnโt happen. I use this one, along with two others much cheaper, five days a week and they work the same.

Better Than Ice
These work great for a day at the beach or tailgating. I use them in an Ice Mule cooler and they keep everything COLD all day without issues.

I was pleasantly surprised ๐๐ป
After a work colleague told me he'd bought these ice bricks I was sceptical at first given the $ but I know him as a guy who only recommends quality products to me. He was right ! These chillin brew bricks keep drinks (in my case beer cans) amazingly cold like nothing else I've used before.. It's hard to explain how they're kept so cold without them actually being frozen but they do, they're perfect... 2 medium bricks in my 24 Roadie Yeti esky and its the perfect combo. Trust me, spend the extra $ for these quality bricks and you won't be disappointed I'm glad I did. ๐ฅถ

These are ok, but not great.
For the money, I was expecting them to last longer than just a few days. Put three in an Igloo cooler box and three days later, had to re-freeze them. Slightly better than some others, but for the heavy price tag, a bit disappointing.

Solid. Seems to last for a day to day ...
Solid. Seems to last for a day to day and half in small cooler. Hard to know whether this or the green arctic series will last longer for every day usage. Will need to test.

Too expansive, not worth the cost.
Compare with the result and the cost, not worth the money.
