Cool and weird.
There are lots of octave effects out there, but I was looking for something that would destroy sound a little more. This sure does that. It isn't a one trick pony kind of pedal, but nor is it a use it for an entire set pedal. That being said, I immediately used it in conjunction my other pedals for some soundtrack work and made lots of really useful sounds to make a rich soundtrack using guitars only. It really lent a fat analog synth kind of sound to my direct guitar signal, as well as giving me a 12-string sounds that filled out a melody line I played that was really credible. I only played single notes and double stops though, no strumming. All in all a useful pedal that I have no doubt that I will turn to when trying to make my guitar sound less like a guitar. One last thing, the killer feature is the ability to tune the modulator by holding down one of the momentary switches.

You can pretty much just sit around for hours turning knobs and ...
Very versatile pedal. You get the ring modulator and all the odd sounds it can give you along with harmony, octave, tremelo, chorus/flanger/rotary effects along with things I'm not quite sure how to define. You can pretty much just sit around for hours turning knobs and adjusting the filters and come up with something you've never heard before.

Useful, flexible pro gear
Ring Thing is a great pedal. Most useful is the incredible pitch bending. You can use it to pitch change voice as well with high quality sound. Or shift down a Telecaster and it sounds like nice Jazz Bass. A very minor processing delay can occur of maybe 20-50ms. Modulation is great as well and can create excellent chorus effects, super tremolos and much more. 9 programmable presets really has the professional in mind. This pedal is a shoe gazers essential. Highly recommended.

My favorite ring modulator
A really flexible, tremendous ring modulator that is flexible enough to do a whole lot more as well - from strange warbling Leslie-like tones to straight pitch-shifting (with great tracking!) on whole chords, it's a great pedal. The ring modulator itself is fantastic. Would heavily recommend for someone who likes experimenting with strange soundscapes.

My favorite
this is by far my fave pedal on my board, it does everything from tremolo, chorus, ring mod (obviously), harmonies, just everything it's so much fun to play with and gets so many unworldly tones

Five Stars
Great product.

doubles my synth
Say a street water demo that used the ring thing along with a m5 line6 stereo delay modulator. This adds major beef to your synth...I'm using it with a moog phatty...sounds huge. Basically you gotta hear it and for the price adds major sickness to your tones

Guitar Synthesis XTC
I always wanted to explore a ring modulator. This is not a one-trick pony thou. You have a tunable ring mod, tremolo, pitch shifter, upper band mod, low band mod along with a few weird things in between. This is a fun pedal for exploring non-traditional modulation applications. If you want a safe pretty effect, this may not suit your taste. This pedal goes beyond metal. It's electric guitar synthesis. Bell tones, sci-fi sounds, ethnic timbres. If you're looking for something new in sound, this is it.

Everything from ringmod destruction to subtle harmonics pitch shifting and tremolo effects.
Fantastic and versatile pedal to create everything from otherworldly tones to subtle harmonics. You'll spend ages twisting all the dials to come up with your own sweet spots. The pitch shifter is good too, particularly at lower pitches. If you pitch up too much it sounds a bit tinny. There's also a bit of lag with the pitchshifter sometimes but it's not super noticeable. Can be used with synths too. Only mono input on this pedal though, so cannot modify a true stereo signal. It can output stereo though (dry on one side and mixable dry/wet on the other when using RM/PS mode or upper sideband on one side and lower in the other when using UB/LB mode)
