As described. Easy to tighten and loosen screws, has a ridge on inside hoop that fits into notch in outer hoop to hold fabric better, and seems sturdy. I have used the 4 inch size for two pieces so far and the fabric stays taut and doesn't get looser over time when stitching.

As with all wooden hoops, these are a little rough at the edges, but they're strong in my hands as I work, they hold my fabric tension very well, they're easy to loosen/tighten (which is always a must) and they're exactly the sizes advertised - which is excellent, because I bought these hoops in a hurry to replace too small, splintering hoops I bought elsewhere - and they're lightweight despite being thick enough to grasp solidly.

They are plastic which is fine. Work great

Not as sturdy as I expected, but probably my fault. It’s been so long since I bought ode of these, it never occurred to me that it would be plastic. I’ve had metal hoops and wooden hoops. It’s nice that there is a selection of sizes, as that’s a great value. I don’t embroider, but I wanted it for some mending I need to do, and the ease of keeping the fabric taut is very beneficial.

So I think you get what you pay for. Maybe I should have gotten wooden ones or something because I feel like I can’t get the fabric taut enough because it moves when im working on a piece regardless of how tight it is and what fabric im using. You have a great selection of sizes with these though so that’s good because I mostly do small embroidered faces with these.
