My type 4 hair is high density, tightly coiled, and thick. I wasn't sure if this brush was gonna work with my hair because it looks rather cheap and flimsy, but it shocked me and managed my hair with no problems. It was easy to hold when my hands were wet and slippery. I was able to detangle my whole head in the shower in 5-8 minutes with no problems, no unnecessary ripping my hair out, getting caught on tangles, no pain or anything. It's a great brush, but it doesnt make up for a persons lack of care for their hair. It's a brush, not a magician. It's my first time using it, but hopefully the bristles on the brush hold up against my thick hair. A few of the bristles folded/bended a little, but its nothing crazy or worth complaining about. It's worth giving a try. (The video is me detangling before styling) it only took a few passes before it started gliding.

I purchased this and I'm so very glad I did. I have kinky/coily shoulder length 4c hair. I've been natural for 10+ years and this made detangling so very easy. Wash day for me usually take about 6 hours. No, I'm not kidding. Detangling takes up the majority of that time. This go-round took about 3.5 give or take 5 or 10 minutes. I didn't keep track because I was breezing through detangling with this brush. The bristles are perfect because I'm not as the old folks say "tender headed", it's durable because I dropped it a few times due to having product on my hands and it didn't crack or anything and I LOVE the color. Only thing I wish I could change... the size. I wish it was bigger but other than that, it's great for me. Definitely keeping it.Oh! When I used this on my hair, my hair was severely matted and tangled. I had 2 surgeries in September and couldn't wash my hair until 09/03. My hair was disgusting and this saved me time and pain and I can't vend or reach much. Do yourself a favor and buy this but keep in mind to take your time. Be patient with yourself. Nothing you buy is going to be a "fix all" for anything in your life.

I bought this one and the Denman paddle. I returned the paddle right away bc it has hard bristles and ended up pulling my hair out bc of pillow effect of the brush itself. The decide to keep this one until I was able to use it in the shower. It’s been a long time since I had a “shower brush.” I used it yesterday to do a deep conditioning treatment on my hair. It was amazing!! It helped distribute the conditioner through my thick long hair and helped detangle it as well. It doesn’t pull my hair out. The bristles are still hard but it helps get through my hair when it’s wet, so I just avoid my scalp. It’s literally the perfect shower brush. I am so happy with it! And also does a fine job after I’m out of the shower with wet hair. My son has tried it on his dry hair and it makes it shiny and smooth. I would definitely recommend this as a great shower brush!!

The brush head is excellent! Very gentle, glides through hair and quickly detangles, works great on long, curly hair...HOWEVER, the brush handle is AWFUL! It's way too short, thin, and has zero grip/sturdiness - which is super problematic for a wet brush! Trying to use it in the shower is beyond frustrating. If you have big hands you'll be even more irritated with how slippery and uncomfortable it is. If Denman could keep this brush head and put it with the handle on the Pattern brush, it would be a match made in heaven. I'm undecided on if I'll keep using it or not - even though the brush head is really great, the stupid handle just makes brushing my hair miserable.

Great detangler for wet hair.

Denman brushes are amazing, but the brush arrived with several bristles bent and broken. Since the retail packaging is open to show the bristles, it may be better to package them in a more protective way, for shipping. It was in a thin plastic bag, tossed in with other items. Returned for a refund, and the return process was incredibly easy.

I purchased this brush on sale, so it seemed like a great value for such a highly regarded brand. I also think the colors are adorable. However, I found the quality to be shockingly low. It actually feels like a children’s toy brush in my opinion. It’s very hard plastic with no real give or flexibility. Perhaps that’s a good thing for wet hair, I’m not really sure, but I don’t find this brush pleasant to use and will be returning it. I’m happy with my tried-and-true Wet Brush.

This brush is awesome!!!I had my previous brush, that I leave in the shower break on me due to it being made of wood. I needed something that could withstand being constantly wet, and something that was still curly hair friendly. I do love Denman products, I had no idea they had a brush like this one! Its great for most all hair types. It does not have those little plastic balls at the end of each bristle which was what I needed. It detangles like a dream, its lightweight and the best part is that its suuuuuper easy to clean. You 100% get the value for your money, if not more. The bristles are sturdy but not terribly stiff where it hurts. I have had this brush now for over a month now and can confidently tell you that if you've been looking for a wet brush (specially if you have curly hair) you found it.

I purchased this detangler brush for my long hair. Very happy with it, works great!! I was buying a different Denman Brush, saw this one and added it my order as well. Denman is excellent quality and last for years.

Initially bristles felt harsh like metal pins vs. D3 I used to have, which was unsuitable for use in the shower. Completely changed my mind (Initially 3 stars, now 5 stars). I am getting used to this and really like it now. Suitable for dry and wet and I seem to lose less hair because of detangling effect. I also don't feel like I need to brush a lot with this brush.
