Nice, cheaper alternative oil for my Focus RS vs mobil1, motorcraft, Castrol, etc
tried doing a lot of research on this oil to determine if it was safe for my Focus RS because the fear of LSPI. from everything i've researched, this is a perfectly safe alternative to the more pricey oils. what i can't speak on is how it performs vs those others. but at half the price for my 150k+ motor, I'm fine with it.. i change my oil every 5-6k miles anyway. this oil is API SP, SN, SN+ just as Ford specifies. I highly recommend it so far. also, if anyone isn't aware, you can also use the larger filter if you like for the RS (FL-400S). should also work on the ST. 99% sure they use the same filter.

Good Value
Amalie makes good products, I've used their universal synthetic transmission fluid in a variety of applications (Honda, Kia, GM, etc.) and I've always had good luck with it. So decided to try their motor oil out, since purchasing this online is about the same price as I can find a synthetic Xw-40 grade oil locally. So far so good. I'm a believer in using a bit thicker weight oil in summer when temps are in the 90's and above. So the 0w-40 works out nicely for this purpose. Edit: Ran the oil for about 6,000 miles an had an oil analysis done on my '15 Kia Sedona (3.3L GDI engine). Lowest wear metals, and highest TBN (active additive left) I've ever seen, though there was 1.3% fuel dilution which thinned the oil down to a 30 weight. I'm a believer in this oil, great stuff!

PERFORMANCE OIL AT A REASONABLE PRICE
I purchased Amalie Oil after reading favorable reviews and by researching some on the company. The prices on 5W-50 are generally not cheap. I have been running Motorcraft oil in my 2013 Boss 302 Mustang, but it is expensive. I believe this oil is as good or better than the Motorcraft at a far better price point. I read a number of favorable reviews where people have used this oil in their Shelby's and other performance cars.

This works unexpectedly well
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is very strange... This product was recommended to me by a buddy who races. I own a Gen 1 Voodoo powered GT 350 R. These are known for burning at least a quart as frequently as every thousand miles. I switched from the more expensive Motorcraft specified 5-50 to this in the same viscosity... The result has been that the car no longer appears to be burning oil... Perhaps it's just substantially reduced, but I'll take it. And put money back in my pocket. Pretty sure I'm switching all of my vehicles and engines over.

Full Synthetic 5w50 Motor Oil
Hard to beat for the price. Top quality full synthetic engine oil in 5w50 viscosity can be tough to find and expensive, but Amazon carries the Amalie Elixir line at a very reasonable/affordable price. The oil is as good or better than the Motorcraft full syn 5w50 I've used before according to oil sample testing I've done, at almost half the price. If you need a 5w50 engine oil, I highly recommend this brand!

UOA Used oil analysis. From what I can grasp the oil to sell OK not great not terrible.
The way I understand the oil sheared down to a 40 weight. It is still better than the 0W 20 or 0W 30 blended Motorcraft oil the manufacturer puts in the car. You may not know this but blended engine oil is approximately 90% conventional. My experience with the Lab was not good. The information seems convoluted to me. When I called and talked to them, the female I talk to on the phone refused to give me any kind of recommendation as far as should I run that oil for a shorter period of time or how much longer could I run the oil. Then when I ask her point-blank what viscosity it tested at she was all over the place. She said it tested anywhere between a 30 and I 40 weight on the high end. The winter weight. It tested anywhere between 5 and 15. So I cannot recommend Lab analyzers! I would suggest maybe: Blackstone or possibly Intertek automotive research lab or possibly Oilcheck, Speediagmnostix which is what Lake Speed jr. is affiliated with. My impression if an oil meets: Dexos R, Porsche A40 or Mercedes-Benz MB 229.5 or MB229.51/52 or .72 itโs a good oil.
