Repairing Your Own Clock: A simple, non-technical guide to repairing a mechanical clock

Excellent for the beginner.
This book is very good and informative for anyone new to horology. Well written for the beginner with usefull illustrations. However, do not let down a clock mainspring with a clock key as described on page 12. This is dangerous as a fully wound mainspring stores considerable power. The risk of damage to fingers is high! Purpose designed tools are available as the author also mentions. Let down tools are relatively inexpensive and we'll worth getting. But apart from this one concern I would recommend this book.
