Not like I needed another guitar but wow. I had played one of these about a year ago, finally decided to pull the trigger so glad i did. YouTube videos give you a great overview of this guitar so I highly recommend that if you are curious please watch those videos. You will love this guitar, I can’t seem to put it down. The feel of this is solid has a good weight. You probably would want to buy their guitar strap as well. It does slide around when you’re holding it in your lap. The strap they sell is perfect for this guitar , works better that other types of straps. The ends also clamp on so it won’t fall off

Update: The CEO/founder contacted me and we figured out the problems together and solved the issues.This is a very nice guitar that employees the use of AI and smart technology to connect to the internet to bring in back beats and loops to enhance your music.I figured out that they needed to update their app and the software within the guitar which they did and this solved some of the issues. We made a few other tweets as well and manually configured the network. I figured out that the issue was more about initiating the new guitar rather than the connection itself so I concluded that it was really more of a security issue. As a tech expert I know this is just a part of technology development and there are always growing pains when you create something new.Louis was kind enough to actually give me a guitar after I had these difficulties and this is very generous and good of him to do! I will continue experimenting with it. It is a nice futuristic looking guitar. We in the music community will never go all out for AI music because we know it detracts from the original creation of human music on the traditional instruments we have always loved but it does open a window that may somehow augment what we do as humans to make the experience more enjoyable for more people. AI would be nothing without the human created material that is already out there and is used in the machine learning process for AI. Still it is a fun concept if used responsibly. Keep innovating! Not everything is meant to be recreated or changed and artistic processes don't always need to be innovated but it can be complemented with a few tools that help us think about how we produce music and sound.

Let’s start with the positives: i love that this guitar is made of carbon fiber, and the thought of being able to take it anywhere at anytime is amazing. The color is a pretty white and it does clean easily. Adjusting the truss rod is incredibly easy and makes playing very nice. The strings are very comfortable to play on and is definitely good for beginners, yet still sounds great to more advanced players.Now the downsides:First, price. This is a very expensive guitar that you can get much better sounding from other brands at the same cost. Secondly, the size is very small and the neck is a bit too thin for my liking. And the biggest thing i have with this is that i just don’t use the screen as much as i thought. It is just kinda cumbersome to me.It’s a solid guitar and is made well. No buzzing, but just not for me.

Going into this purchase, I was a little skeptical. I have been looking for a carbon fiber guitar for a while since I live in a dry area. I heard great things about LAVA from my friends, so I wanted to give it a try. I am so glad I did, because I am extremely impressed with the purchase!The color, the material, and the technology are all top notch. I love that everything I need or could want is already built into the guitar. Tuner, effects, looping, recording, jamming with a backing track, learning, and much more. There’s even an app where you can track your progress and share your creations. I love the social aspect of it because you can listen to other people’s recordings. It also comes with an awesome gig bag, super stylish!Overall, my girlfriend and I are extremely impressed. We are lifelong LAVA fans. Thank you guys for putting out such an awesome and innovative product!

This was the one of the worst guitars I’ve ever purchased. Not only does it sound awful (I should have expected that from a plastic guitar), but the cheap hollow necks that they use, snap in half very easily (see picture). The inboard electronics offer nothing that a simple outboard effect could not do better. These guitars sound, feel, and perform like cheap toys, and the customer service is practically non-existant. I tried several times but they would not help. I wish someone would have warned me what I’m warning you “Stay away”.

The LAVA ME 4 is a great-sounding and tech-smart innovative guitar, but as other reviews have stated, the playability is not as good as the neck is a bit too narrow for fingers; it should be 1/4 inch wider. Also, when playing and holding the guitar from 2-1/2 feet away looking downward the bass top three strings cover the small round fret markers...so I had to order larger stick-on fret marketers and that made a huge difference (see the pictures); you'd think after paying this much for a guitar they would inlay large fret markers... Also, the strings are hard as rock and not very flexible (hard on experienced fingers), better to replace them with Elixir Nanoweb 11/52 light; for far better playability. Lastly, the single 'Looping' effect should be at least 2min minimum like other loopers. Do I see an improved LAVA ME 5 coming out sometime soon? Let's hope so.NOTE: If taking this guitar away from your home or WiFi access it will not display or be able to use many of the effects available with WiFi. To help resolve this issue you may have to use your phone as a 'Hot Spot' WiFi but that will cost most folks phone provider service minutes that may have limits before extra charges are incurred. These features in the future need to be downloaded into the guitar's memory (memory is cheap) so that all special features and effects are available when away from WiFi.
