Great if you have an easy, square yard with no obstacles like trees or plants.
Reviewing SUNSEEKER L22 Robotic Lawn Mower 0.3 Acre/13,000 Sq. Ft., The section of our yard that needs mowed is small. The issue is that it’s sectioned off and is not one big square. It’s sectioned off into three distinct areas, with a tree in each area, some shrubs along the edges and patios in each section. I knew it would not be a simple to mark it off for this robot by reading the listing page, however, I was confident with some time put in up front, it would work well after the initial time investment. That was sort of a correct assumption. It took some time to map it all out with the wire (including the trees). Once I did get it all mapped out, I realized there are some areas that are best left off and done manually. I have one section with a seedling that I don’t want mowed over so I am completely avoiding that area with the mower, but everything else is working well. I don’t mind weed eating around the sapling. Better safe than sorry. Unfortunately, it is a lot of work to get the guide wire in place since our yard is not a perfect square with nothing in the middle. I knew it would be work, but not as much work as it was. We have two dogs, so we don’t run this on a schedule. We go out, pick up the poop and any branches/toys/twigs, etc, before manually starting a run cycle. We learned the hard way not to run this if the grass is damp or long, so you need to run it around your sprinkler schedule and not let the grass get too tall between mowing. The battery life is good for our yard, but again, the area we mow is quite small (less than 5000 feet). If you have a lot of shrubbery or trees, be sure you are willing to put in the initial time investment to map it all out at the beginning. Otherwise, you are going to be frustrated. If you do it properly in the beginning, make sure the yard is picked up before each mow cycle, and make sure the grass is dry and not too all, you will be rewarded with hassle free upkeep of your yard. Rating 3 stars because of the initial frustration trying to map around trees, etc. I feel if it worked like a vacuum cleaner, where you can mark off no go zones, rather than using a guide wire, this would be excellent, but it’s hard enough to set up, that I feel a lot of people would rather return it.

Hands free mowing
The SUNSEEKER L22 Robotic Lawn Mower is a cutting-edge device designed to make lawn maintenance easier and more convenient for homeowners. One of the standout features of the SUNSEEKER L22 is its ability to mow lawns up to 1 acre in size. With its powerful lithium-ion battery, this robotic mower can continuously operate for up to 2.5 hours, ensuring that even large lawns can be efficiently maintained. Additionally, the L22 is equipped with advanced sensors that allow it to navigate complex and challenging terrains with ease. This means that homeowners can sit back and relax while the SUNSEEKER L22 takes care of their lawn. Another key feature of the SUNSEEKER L22 is its user-friendly interface. The mower can be easily programmed using a smartphone or tablet, allowing homeowners to set specific mowing schedules and adjust cutting heights with ease. Additionally, the L22 comes with a perimeter wire that helps define the boundaries of the lawn, ensuring that the mower stays within the designated area. This level of customization allows homeowners to tailor the mowing experience. Overall this Robotic lawnmower will take some getting used to - however once you have your Mapping set get ready for hands free mowing! I would highly recommend this product.

Crazy how quiet it is
The short version: Sunseeker L22 is reliable, seems to be built well, and operates extremely quietly. Those who envision a perfectly manicured lawn may be disappointed in its completely random mowing pattern. Set up was generally simple with the exception of installing the boundary wire. The instructions say to stake it every 3 feet on top of the ground, however we chose to bury the wire. My husband used a pick axe to trench a 2" deep path around the yard. This made it look better than having the wire on top of the ground but it was a time consuming job, nearly 6 hours for our 1/5 acre yard. But, this allows us to use our riding mower if necessary without fear of cutting the wire. Otherwise, setting up the mower and the interface with the app was very easy. You do have to make sure you have 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. After using it for over a month, here are some observations: If you like your lawn striped like a baseball field or want it perfectly manicured, this probably isn't for you. That's because the mower uses random patterns and doesn't mow a specific section to completion. It takes about 16 hours to complete our yard, so in that process there are small patches here and there which have slightly longer grass. Our mowing schedule is 4 hours per day, 4 days a week. I wish I could make it complete an area in the front of the house before moving on to the side and back yards but it wanders all over. Although it isn't a major height difference, these patches are noticeable. It took about 4 weeks of mowing for it to map our yard. Once the yard is mapped in the app, there are starting points that you are able to change the percentage on, however the instructions for doing this are not very clear. Currently experimenting with this to see what effect changing those percentages has. My husband did use the in-app feature to contact customer support. He mentioned that he liked that he was able to attach photos. It took nearly a week but he did receive a response and all of his concerns were addressed. His main concern was that the rain delay sensors appeared to not be working properly, but since contacting support the issue seems to be resolved. The mower runs for about 2.5-3 hours and then when it gets to 25%-30% charge it will return back to the charging station. We found it works well to run for about 2 hours, return to charge, then run another 2 hours on the days we have it mow. It has been extremely reliable and has only had to be rescued in the yard twice-one time because it caught a large twig, the other time it was unclear what caused it. For the most part, it avoids obstacles but our yard is surrounded by trees and after a storm we had a lot of twigs blown down. My husband does have concerns about how it will handle the leaves in the fall. The blades are small but easy to change and inexpensive. With all that said, the obvious benefit to this mower is the time it saves in the long run. We will still need to do some trim work, but we would have needed to do that anyway. Mowing our lawn with the riding mower wasn't a long job, but our schedules left us only weekends free, and then if it rained the yard was looking pretty wild by the next weekend. The Sunseeker really can be set to mow any time of day or night, it is so quiet that it operates in near stealth mode.

Difficult to set up
The robotic lawn mower is an interesting concept, similar to a Roomba but for your yard. While it offers the convenience of automated lawn care, the setup process is quite involved, requiring you to lay down a border much like an electric fence for dogs. Unfortunately, I haven't been impressed with its performance, especially given the cost. The effort required for setup and the high price tag may not justify the benefits, making it a less favorable option for those looking for an efficient and hassle-free lawn care solution.

Product is unusable without compelled spy app install and registration
I feel it is unethical to ship a product that is unusable without installing a privacy invading app. There is no way to disable the sonar without the app, and the mower can't be used in tall grass, or grass with weeds, with the sonar enabled. The app forces you to give up your email, your location, data in your google account, and other data collected in the background. This is just plain bad. Companies need to to respect customers and stop spying on them. It doesn't matter if the mower mows well or not, this issue makes the product bad.

Decent but with some major drawbacks.
For the most part I found that the Sunseeker worked as advertised.. to an extent.. but I wish I would've understood it's limitations before ordering. I have a yard that is divided down the center by a cement walkway. The mower is capable of driving over the walkway but unfortunately in order to use the Sunseeker I needed to run the guide wire over the walkway which is unsightly and not ideal in any way and presents a tripping hazard. While I don't have very large yard, my lawn wraps around my entire home so I needed to run the guide wire through a narrow gate opening which I struggled with. I also have to make sure the gate is open before the mower runs in order to get the full coverage which is a pain as the gate is left closed for security purposes and I not comfortable having it open when I'm not home. In addition, the guide wire was frustratingly difficult to set up and took several hours between the initial installation and all the adjustments I needed to make. I also have two large trees in my front yard and I had to run the guide wire pretty far away from them so the mower didn't get stuck on some of the roots sticking out of the ground. I was also under the impression that the mower would create a map for itself on the first mow and follow a pattern on all future mowing jobs but it seems to just drive around in a random order. Add on top of the fact that the cutting area is very narrow and it makes for a very inefficient mower. Bottom line for me is that it really not worth it. I really wanted to like the Sunseeker but it has been a disappointment. Between all the time needed having to go back with a weed wacker to clean up all the spots it can't reach around the edges of the yard and trees, remembering to open and close the gate etc.. the amount of time it "saves" me is negligible at best. I can just pull out my push mower and be done in 15-20 minutes instead. On the plus side I found the app pretty simple to use and I like that I can just spray it with a hose to clean it up. It's also very quiet for a mower which is nice. The Sunseeker may work well for you if you have a very basic, square or rectangle shaped yard with out any major obstacles like, walkways, trees, gate etc.. but for me it's really not worth it.

This is incredible
I found this to be relatively easy to set up, but that could be because I have a fairly straight forward lawn design. I was able to lay out the boundary wire all the way around the front and back yard. There is no fence between front and back and I’m guessing it would be a bigger issue to figure out if I did have a fence. I built a little “Dog house” style enclosure for the charging deck so it is hidden and protected in my back yard. When it’s time to mow it rolls out and does the job well. It’s quiet too. I’ve already had a neighbor come over to get information about it so I could see it catching on.

3 month review
After owning and using this mower for three months, it does a decent job, with some monitoring. For starters, the installation is easy only takeing about an hour to lay out the boundary wire. This wire tells the mower where it can work, as this is not a GPS enabled mower. I only had enough wire for my back yard, and just the perimeter. If you are to set this up correctly, the instructions recommend outlining any obstacles in your yard, like trees, or swing sets, or other fixed objects. I chose to just map the perimeter so that I could quickly start using this mower. For the most part the Sunseeker L22 has worked well with a few exceptions. Unless objects are tall enough, the mowers sensors will not detect the obstacles. You can change the sensor sensitivity, but this affects the distance at which it recognized objects and does not change the height of detection. Because of this every now and then my mower gets high centered on the sewer clean out cap in my yard and has run over the rock fire ring in my yard and gets stuck. When this happens, I get a notification on my phone telling me the unit is trapped. Other than this mower getting stuck now and then, it does a respectable job of keeping the yard maintained. Do not expect this mower to cut 3-5 inches of grass when you let your yard go for over a week during peak growing. To start using it I recommend cutting your grass short and then letting the mower keep it at the desired height. Height adjustment on the mower is simple, with just the turn of a dial on top. Pairing the mower with the associated app gives you the ability to customize the mower’s settings and mowing schedule with your phone. I currently have the mower to run every day, and it will mow the edge twice a week. The mower can be connected to via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth although the Bluetooth range is much more limited than the Wi-Fi range. It took just short of a month for the mower to map out my yard, which is then displayed in the app. Once you have a map of your yard established, you can shift the starting points of the mower in case there are portions of the mowing area that it is missing. To be clear this mower operates randomly. If you are expecting nice straight back and forth stripes, then you are going to be disappointed. The mower operates for approximately two hours on a charge before it seeks out the boundary wire and follows it back to the charger base. Once on the charger it takes another about two hours to charge back up before it resumes mowing. Maintenance of the mower (and boundary wire) is painless. The blades on the bottom, which resemble razor blades lasted about six weeks before I noticed that my grass tips looked ripped instead of cleanly cut. They would have definitely lasted longer had the mower not run up on the rocks surrounding my fire pit several times. The blades do mount to the mower much like a brush mower, where the blades pivot on the mounting screw so that they are not damaged when an obstacle is struck. The spinning disc on the bottom of the mower is what deploys the blades to their cutting position (centrifugal force). To replace the blades just remove the screw in each blade and reinstall a new one (2 replacement sets included). I also flip the mower up every week or so and clear out the grass build-up on the underside. Other than that, I have not had to do much more to operate this mower. I have had to patch my boundary wire in several places, but that is due to not installing the stakes close enough and cutting the wire with my real mower due to too much slack in the wire. This can be easily spliced back together once you find the break. Just like painting, the outcome is very dependent on the preparation (installation). Take your time and install more stakes than you think you need. Make sure the boundary wire is tight to the ground. Use the included distance gauge (part of the box that looks like a ruler) to get the correct standoff when laying your boundary. Make sure your corners are 90 degrees or greater, and if you have enough wire, I recommend actually outlining your obstacles instead of relying on the sensors like I did. With an ounce of time committed to your installation, this mower will save you a ton of time. I miss riding my real mower.
