Bought for travel but now they replace my liquid s/c for regular use!
I got the argan set as it specified curly hair. My hair history: My hair is naturally curly and fully gray. I have used only non sulfate/silicone/paraben shampoo and conditioner for a few years. I’ve also begun washing less often, going from years of daily shampooing to every 4 days (more frequently when curly as eventually my curls frizz). I have no problem with oily scalp and my hair is healthy. I use curl products: activator, mousse, gel and refresher spray when curly; and Olaplex 6 and heat protectant when I straighten. These all leave residue so I use a liquid clarifying shampoo about once per month and a deep conditioner immediately following. Aside from the aforementioned clarifying and deep conditioning, I now use these bars exclusively. Unlike the suggested method, I do not rub either bar directly onto my hair, as hairs transfer to the bar and I have to pick it off. Instead, I wet and lather the shampoo bar and apply the shampoo from my hands, then use my finger pads to scrub my scalp, pushing the suds down the hair to my ends then I rinse with warm water. I do this twice. The bar gives satisfying lather and my hair feels quite clean. I then do the same with the conditioner bar applying more to the mid to ends and leave it in while I wash and shave. I do a final rinse with cold water. The conditioner gives me good slip and my fingers easily run through my hair afterward. I have noticed a slight reduction in hair loss in-shower. Not significant, but still less. The scent is nice, not too strong and I smell it mainly during use but not after my hair is dry. I keep the bars in a large travel soap container with a soap pad underneath. I have noticed the shampoo bar is getting smaller quicker and I will certainly run out of it first (the opposite of my experience with bottles). I originally purchased these to reduce my liquids while traveling. However, I like them so much both during use and the result when dry, that they are now my regular shampoo/conditioner. I have also noticed they last longer than bottles, as I likely use less. I have since added the Saphus purple bar shampoo for monthly toning, but have only used it once and haven’t seen a difference yet. Anyway, I will absolutely continue to purchase this Argan set.

Good intro to bar shampoo/conditioner
I've never used bar shampoo/conditioner before but I really like the idea of lower carbon footprint/less packaging waste, etc... Smell is lovely but very strong until I used it. Now it's nice. I.e. sitting on table in living room unopened, it smelled as strong as a burning scented candle. (!) After first use, the smell is now subtle (and I don't smell it at all really unless I pick it up and take a whiff). Fortunately, I like the scent. Not sure scent lingers in hair at all really (not a bad thing either way in this case). If you (like me) have never used bar shampoo before you may want to modify your routine slightly. I used to lather once, wait a min, rinse, then move on to the conditioner. Now I rub the shampoo bar in my wet hands a few times, wash my scalp, rinse, then rub bar 1-2x more with hands and lather scalp/hair again. Second lather is feels just like washing with liquid shampoo. Rinses cleanly. Similar process with conditioner. Hair does not feel conditioned until you rinse, then it feels silk, like any other conditioner I've used. Conditioner feels light, which is what I want. Intention going forward is to double wash/condition every few days, and on off days, wash/condition without rinsing in between to see what happens. (I.e. wash scalp with shampoo 1x, and condition ends with conditioner 1x, leave be while I wash rest of body, then thorough rinse from head to toe... trying to ease into washing hair less frequently). I crocheted a wash bag for the conditioner bar and am still working on the one for the shampoo (intending to hang them from shower curtain hooks so they don't become a slimy mess in the soap dish). Might not be necessary? Underside of shampoo bar is not slimy so far (as it sits on the grooved soap holder section of the shower shelf). If you wear pantyhose/tights, you can always take an old pair (e.g. with a run) and put a bar of soap or shampoo or conditioner in that, knot strategically so it doesn't fall out, trim, and hang it up. You can use the soap through the fabric and by hanging it, it stays drier, and you don't lose the tiny sliver when it's almost used up. My point is you might not need to go to that trouble. As for curl care, I'm still learning how to manage my shoulder length 2c hair after being raised to brush/blow out all the curl. Now I'm trying to encourage the spirals... still have a lot to learn, but this shampoo conditioner seem gentle/light enough to not get in the way, at least. Will definitely buy this brand again when the time comes (might be quite awhile though).

Good but......
I like this shampoo and conditioner because it does seem to soften my dry, frizzy hair a bit. I think it's handy to have it in the bar form. I found a couple of containers to put them in until I use them. Because my hair is so dry I only need to wash it once a week. The only complaint I have is the fragrance of the shampoo bar. It isn't my favorite smell for shampoo. I suppose it's the citrus fragrance, but it's made for dryer hair like mine. I'd prefer more of a coconut or vanilla fragrance myself. I like the conditioner bar way better that came in the set because it smells nice to me.

Works well for my curly, coarse , graying hair 👍
-*UPDATE* - I’ve been using these bars for over a month now, and I still like them! I’ve spent a week on vacation at the beach, swimming in the ocean and washing my hair every day with these bars. Usually after a week like that, my hair would be super dry and begging for some deep conditioning, but not this time! My hair feels very soft and healthy. I’m very happy with this product! I can totally see the difference! One thing that I noticed is that the shampoo bar is softer and melts much faster than the conditioner, about twice as much. After a month of heavy use, I’m probably half way the shampoo bar already and the conditioner looks like the same size. It would be great if they made the bundle with two shampoos and one conditioner… but that’s not a big deal.. just a thought :) ———— I am Caucasian and have a head full of curly hair: natural, coarse, type 3A, medium length, and I’m starting getting gray. Usually, I don’t use shampoo, I just co-wash with a light silicone free conditioner; however, during Summer, I feel the need to shampoo because I sweat more, swim, etc. I love the eco friendly idea of shampoo and conditioner bars, but I had never found one that worked well for me. I decided to give this one a try and bought the citrus & orange variety for curly hair. I have used it a couple of times and, so far, I really like them! The shampoo bar lathers well. It makes my hair feel clean without stripping it. You can feel it is gentle on your hair when you rinse it out - it feels soft and smooth, not squeaky and grippy. The conditioner is light but it has a pretty good slip. I had no problem running my finger through and detangling my hair in the shower, and again, you can feel the hair is well conditioned when you rinse it. It’s not as rich as a creamy conditioner, but it does a good job conditioning my hair without weighing it down. I use Kinky Curly leave in conditioner and their custard gel as styling products. (If your hair is similar to mine, highly recommend them - I keep trying new products and always go back to them…) After I use this shampoo and conditioner bars, style my hair with Kinky Curly products, and let it air dry, my hair feels clean, soft and my curls are well defined and bouncy. I’m happy with the results! The only thing I don’t love about it is the scent. I was hoping for a fresh citrus orangey scent, but it is more on the floral side - orange blossom, I guess? It smells like something my grandma would like… But fortunately the scent does not linger and, honestly, I can barely smell it after my hair is dry, so I think can live with that.

Very strong citrusy scent, but leaves hair feeling soft
I have 3B curls, so I’m constantly looking for products that will not frizz or dry out my hair. I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner set for the past month now, and I’m happy to report that they do not dry out my hair or cause frizz or breakage. The conditioner is nice and big; slightly bigger than the shampoo, even. Since I smother every strand in conditioner, it being bigger than the shampoo guarantees I’ll have enough conditioner to last the entire time I’m using the shampoo. Both bars are the perfect size to fit comfortably in my hand. The shampoo has a nice edge to it that helps to rub the product directly onto the scalp. The conditioner has a curved side and a flat side, which I haven’t encountered before, but is really convenient for holding it against my palm as I run it across my hair. The scent is a bit stronger than I am used to, and just smelling them out of the box was a little off-putting, but the smell dissipates in the shower, and it’s much more pleasant while I’m putting the product on my hair. After the shower, my hair smells fresh and feels soft and pampered. I also like that the shampoo rinses out easily, and the conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel greasy. Overall, I’m really happy with this shampoo and conditioner set, and I think I’m going to keep buying from this company.

Good lather, no shine, no body
This is my 3rd attempt at finding a good bar shampoo and conditioner for my normal type (not oily or dry) shoulder length wavy hair. The shampoo lathers quickly and cleans well. However there is no shine or bounce in my hair when it dries after washing. It doesn't feel stripped like when using Clarifying shampoo, but there is no there there. The conditioner goes on easy but I'm never sure I have rinsed it clear off my hair. Not exactly a residue but something in it makes my normally full hair fall flat. Also, no shine to my hair at all and the hair ends look scraggly. The shampoo is decent on its own, but the conditioner is worthless.

If you want soft, shiny, and static-reducing, you want this.
Everything I hoped for and then more! I originally got this to help reduce static (not referring to frizz) because during the winter I am notoriously shock-prone. Not only did it help with that, but it smells good without being overwhelming. The shampoo lathers super well and the conditioner doesn't take 20 years to start being useful. (Most bar conditioners take forever to get soft enough to start actually being able to spread the conditioner.) I have friends that haven't seen me in a while, and when I shared a selfie they were absolutely stunned at how wonderful my hair looks these days.

Great Product
Both shampoo and conditioner have a very nice fragrance and definitely clean my hair. This is my third set purchased so I know they last a long time. Also very convenient for traveling.

Just as good as bottled hair wash
I used to just buy these for my holidays to cut down on weight in my suitcase, but I have now completely switched from bottles to bars all the time. They foam up lovely and are long lasting. I still have the conditioner bar that I started using in September 2024 and it's end of December 24 when I'm filling out this review. The shampoo bars last about two and a half months for me. They smell nice and are good for the environment and my hair. I don't think I would ever go back to using bottled shampoo and conditioner.

natural and works great
First time buyer of solid shampoo and conditioner. I love it. Lathers very well. Smells great. Lasts a long time, longer than liquid shampoo. Leaves hair feeling clean, soft, light. NO HARSH CHEMICALS!!

Strong scent...not for everyone
Okay but very strong smell almost like a strong air freshener. Won't buy again personally but may be fine for some. Good lather from the shampoo.
