Pointless design
This is poorly designed. The point of magsafe is that if you trip over the wire it just pops off, avoiding any damage to your ports. The way this little device is designed is not fit for that purpose. It only pops off if you pull the wire in one direction – i.e. pulling the wire out straignt. If you pull the wire from the side (which is what would happen if you tripped over the wire) then it won't pop off because there is a lip that prevents that.Utterly pointless device. Don't waste your money.

Poor design - Fried USB cable
Disconnecting the magnetic connector during normal use produced a large spark which fried the USB cable and had to be replaced. Very poor design that allows it to short.

Very useful
Unless you want to end up dragging your MacBook Pro off the table , you will need this. It works well, though it would stay on better if it were a little more compact. or the magnet was a bit strionger.

Why oh why did apple stop making these magnetic connectors, I had already broken 2 of the very expensive charging cables before I found these!
