Wonderful read
I have read various articles about Isabella Blow and her family, being generally interested in fashion and people in fashion, so I was keen to read this book.I haven't read Detmar Blow's book, simply because I didn't feel it would be sincere.I thought it would be a tribute to their crazy & tragic life together, but maybe not so much about Isabella as a person.I like honest biographies, where someones' story is told with sincerity, not necessarily in search of some obscure truth and not trying to find impossible answers. That's exactly what this book is, the life story of Isabella, written with great sincerity, without excess and very well-researched.I don't think Isabella was a genius but I think she was a true catalyst, someone with the unique talent to see connections (between people, objects, places) and make great things happen. She was also a hugely privileged person, born into a life that many of us can hardly imagine.Nonetheless, after all the extravaganza, the hats, the clothes, the country houses and the lovers, she only wanted to be loved and find a purpose in life.Just like everyone else. This is the Isabella portrayed in this book, incredibly charming, hugely talented, tragically vulnerable - and I literally fell in love with her.Oh, by the way, non-British readers (like myself, I'm Italian) will certainly enjoy some amusing little excursions into the life of British aristocracy !Wonderful read.

A detailed account of an extraordinary life, with pictures of fashion extravaganza which were part of her life. An interesting and thought - provoking book. Well done!

This offers a slightly different take on her than the one written by her husband:-emphasising the nature/quality to some extent of the relationships she had with people. Isabella comes across to me as an "id" (Freudian reference) - a firecracker who could not self contain, a spirit with unfettered (albeit expensive!) inspiring ideas.

Easy to read
An interesting book detailing the life of someone I knew little about. This is an easy to read book with some parts humorous and some parts tragic!

Fascinating biography
I enjoyed this book about Isabella as it is well researched and discusses her life from an objective perspective which is well referenced as well as very readable. I am fascinated by her tragically short but very sparkly life. So far I have read this book and Detmar's biography.
