Best Compass I've ever owned!
Great bit of kit for the money. Tons of usable features and very well made. The case is robust and heavy duty making it very well protected. The built in viewer facility to find directional bearings simply by looking through the 'spy hole' located just above the base of the compass (where the lid closes down) is incredibly useful as you can point the compass in the direction you wish to travel and look at your bearings as you're actually moving along. The 'bubble level' is also useful for ensuring that both map and compass are on a flat surface before orientating the map to compass Magnetic North. The incline scale is of help when locating your position on the map by reading the land contours. I am looking forward to enjoying using it on many walks!! No excuse for getting lost now :)

Good but bulky.
Compass build is solid but is rather bulky. I would not buy again but look for alternatives for a smaller size.

Number one in my opinion
I have used compasses of both sorts for years of walking and camping but now this is my go to one . Its strong ,accurate and very easy to use

Young soldier
This was a birthday gift to the son of my nephew who at 16 years has embarked upon a career in the Army where compass and map will always trump GPS for the Infanteer.

Compass-themed paperweight
This is not a functioning compass. The rose is so unbalanced it doesn't rotate at all unless you hold it at a jaunty angle (about 8 degrees from vertical). It points about 14±4 degrees west of magnetic north, (depending on when the rose sticks). Seller proudly proclaims this is how it's supposed to work and refuses to offer refund or exchange, claiming "you reflect this situation is a normal phenomenon. Because the floating oil moves in the dial, the scale will move."

Broke easily
Used for walking in Brecon Beacons. Solid apart from plastic scaled viewing window on front broke instantly on opening box before having a chance to use it which is very disappointing

I love this compass. It is compact, accurate, durable and waterproof. Easy to use, so perfect for the beginner like me.
