For a popper with not a wide mouth, i'm surprised by the amount of water it throws. It throws more water than some of the bigger mouth poppers I have. This do not flip easily so you can make long sweeps of the rod with it to get a big pop and swim. I haven't caught anything on it so far (haven't on any of the other poppers of late either) so I can't judge it in that regard as yet. But I definitely like what it does in the water and it's hook, split rings and construction looks good. It's a really good buy for the price!! EDIT: I have caught fish on it now. Caught mostly Horse Eye Jacks on it. Had a good Barracuda hooked on it as well. The split rings on it is very durable. I've had this over a year now, fishing saltwater haven't had to change out the split rings. I've opened them to change hooks a few times and they haven't lost shape either. Also casts very good too!

This lure is very well made. Nice big, sharp hooks. Nice clear concave head produces great action. First time using this lure I caught a 40" northern pike. And, two smaller pike and a largemouth bass. It is heavy lure and can be casted very far, yet, stays on the surface as expected. I think the weight actually allows me to cover more water. Definitely a great buy.

Not having a dog, I use this to retrieve ducks that I can't reach by wading or using a long pole. Works great! Cast past the duck, and reel in the lure over the duck. My first attempt with this lure snagged the duck in the wing and smoothly pulled it to shore. So much better than getting soaked in a Colorado pond in the winter!

It's pretty heavy and launches a good distance with a med 8 ft surf rod. The popping action is way better than a lot of poppers i have bought before. It's heavy but doesn't sink if you let it sit there like other poppers that have heavy weighted butts. Tie this onto a 25 -30 lb mono leader with a bucktail teaser dangling 1 feet above it and it looks incredible. The teaser walks the dog and sinks while the popper scoops out a big chunk of water chasing the teaser. I've caught fish on both the teaser and the popper.
