Hi mileage, low maintenance and quality at a sensible price
This is my 3rd purchase of Nortiv 8 boots. I had been trying to find some hiking boots that actually stood up the the term "Hiking" I do on average 8 or 9 miles per day and was fed up with boots not lasting a reasonable time. I purchased some high spec leather boots from an outdoor specialist store with the promise I could get from Lands end to John o Groats without needing new boots in Manchester. Assuming an average of only 60 miles per week after 16 weeks, approximately 960 miles the soles were finished. A £250 pair of boots in need of a re-sole at a cost of £85. In my search for something cheap to tide me over while they were being repaired I stumbled on Nortiv 8 and was impressed by the reviews, some quoting between 1200 and 1500 miles. This was from boots priced at under £50. I ordered a pair and straight out of the box instant comfort. Looked well made and even came with a spare set of laces. 32 weeks and in excess of 1900 miles later they finally gave up being waterproof while on holiday in Cornwall. I just hit buy again for another pair to be delivered to my location. I didn't notice that I had managed to order a different spec boot and was slightly concerned that the new ones would not be as good. How wrong can you get, these went on for 34 weeks before they too lost the ability to stay waterproof. I had put the repaired leather boots into store until needed, so I put them into service. They lasted 14 weeks so here I am back getting more Nortiv 8 boots. For the money I wasted on "posh" boots I could have bought 5 or 6 pairs of these and still have at least 3 pairs in stock. If you want boots that can stand up to heavy use and little need for maintenance other than the occasional spray of waterproofer you won't go far wrong with these.

Good boot, but not waterproof
Purchased 6 months ago and am very pleased with the comfort, durability and fit of the boots, having undertaken a few long treks. However, in no way should they be described as waterproof. Out in the lightest of rain, or walking through wet grass results in soggy feet.

Good value
I've got quite long narrow feet and they fit nicely anyway on width. Comfortable inside, feel very camping, hiker vibe, doesn't think they're leather but similar material, the underside is grooved out nicely so no slips, the ankle support is decent, stepped in a bit of a ditch and barely felt it. Happy enough, suppose the only question is how long will they last. I'll be back to edit the review if they break but currently satisfied.

Ordered as quick last minute replacement next day delivery
I ordered these as my car broke down in France and I left my much loved but ultra expensive gortex all weather boots in the back while awaiting recovery to UK . Currently December and I had two quick trips to the Baltic's, Lithuania and Poland so needed some boots fast. Read the reviews and it was these and the price point ( still hope to get my Gortex back) and the speed of delivery that did it for me. These boots have been excellent. Arrived next day Amazon Prime in time for my trips. I ordered the size 12 as I usually take size ,11 UK when it comes to trainers/shoes but I order one size up when it comes to boots as I wear with walking/winter socks. When these boots arrived I did a quick test and although they worked with the socks were a tad on the tight side so I did a return and got size 13 which have worked out really well , my advice therefore would be order one size up from your normal walking boots. These boots are lightweight but fit well and are comfortable , so far have proven warm and completely waterproof even in heavy snow. At one point I lost my drone which lost the signal and decided to do an impromptu landing so I had to go off piste and recover, the snow came right up to the top of the boots without entering and the boots remained warm and weather tight throughout . As regards the grip I note some have made unfavourable comment but I have found to be excellent even in snow and ice. The tread is deep and rugged and should last for quite some time although I will probably put them away until next winter now. I wear these boots with the laces done up to the first ankle hook only which I find works best for me leaving more flexibility in the ankle but guess that's a personal choice . Highly recommend these boots but order one size up.

I'll score these in mutliple different ways
Review written 12.06.26, set at 3 stars out of 5 I purchased these to stop wearing my more premium Keen Targhee III and Berghaus HIllwalker boots for daily dog walking. The Nortivs have only been used for daily 5 mile dog walks totalling approximately 35 miles so far, in all weathers except snow Comfort/Fit - I went from an Keen/Berghaus 10.5 UK to a 10 Wide in these, and really, there is very little difference. These are a little higher on the ankle than i'm used to, but again, you mostly forget about them after a while. There is the odd occasion they feel a little thin on the sole or ever so slightly unbalanced, but it's so very rare. Just enough to notice, not long enough to be worth complaining about. I've never been wildly uncomfortable in them. They don't feel as premium as Keen or Berghaus, and they are definitely a downgrade from those brands, but not so much you feel you'd never wear them again. I wouldn't want to wear them twenty miles from home, but on long local dog walks, you should be fine. Score 3/5 Waterproofing - They're.... odd. Your feet send a message to the brain to say they feel wet, but when you take the boots off, your feet don't feel wet. They don't feel dry either. In hot weather, your feet will feel recognisably sweaty. I guess that the boots don't keep temperatures out very well, like long wet grass early in the morning etc, and that's what makes your feet feel different. It doesn't inspire confidence in these boots. Score 3/5 Durability - These have been out for approximately 30 miles of walking along grass, concrete, trail etc,, and already, the left boot feels like it may have developed a tiny leak. They do feel sturdy, and i have been wandering through mud and on the edge of streams, and my feet haven't felt flooded yet. But the left foot is definitely feeling something different to the right The boots pick up smells very easily. I walk over a tiny bit of boggy spring water, and they've kept that smell already. The Keens took over a hundred miles of walking to even start to keep the bog smell with them. Score 3/5 Conclusion - for £42, just walking local muddy trails, through long wet grass, and so on, they're a 4/5. They're very good value for money (so far), but the feeling they return through your feet does make you wonder if you'd want to be depending on them for long outdoor walks far from home.

Solid, Supportive and Good Value Hiking Boots
I’ve been using the NORTIV 8 ankle high waterproof boots for walking and light hiking, and overall they’ve been a reliable and comfortable option for the price. They feel sturdy straight out of the box, with good ankle support and a solid sole. The grip performs well on mixed terrain including gravel paths, woodland trails and damp ground. They provide decent traction and feel stable underfoot. Comfort-wise, the cushioning is good for moderate distances, and the boots offer reassuring ankle support without feeling overly stiff. The waterproofing holds up well in light rain and damp grass, keeping feet dry during typical outdoor use. Pros: ✔ Good ankle support and stability ✔ Solid grip on varied terrain ✔ Waterproof performance in light to moderate conditions ✔ Comfortable for everyday walking and light hikes ✔ Great value for the price Cons: ✖ May require a short break-in period ✖ Not as lightweight as premium hiking boots ✖ Waterproofing may not match high-end specialist brands in heavy downpours Overall, these are a dependable and affordable pair of hiking boots that perform well for general outdoor use. While they may not replace high-end technical hiking footwear, they’re a strong 4-star choice for casual walkers and weekend hikers looking for comfort and support at a reasonable price.

Perfectas

A 12 K Hike Right out of the Box with no problems
I wore these for the first time today and went on a 12-kilometer walk/hike. They felt great without any rubbing or pinching during the hike over some rough and rocky terrain. I'm impressed with the quality, fit and comfort. After the hike my feet feel fine with no blistering or sore spots. I expect them to be only water-resistant as “Waterproof” is rare at any price point. I'm not sure how long they will last, but for now I like them, and recommend these to any hikers who don't want to break the bank for a decent boot. Update: I've now put well over 100 Kms on these boots and it's official....these are great boots! Still no blistering or sore spots, still comfortable. The boots themselves are standing up with no cracks or material break down.
