Works well, install is simple, IF you realize the trick
I used this kit to repair an old Jandy "Gray Valve" Diverter Valve. It restricts water flow out to the pool, so the port to the Polaris 360 Pool Cleaner has enough pressure to work. The Trick to putting it back together:The sliding seal inside my old valve was really worn out, so it was real easy to turn, and was internally leaking. The replacement diverter assembly, being new, has a new sliding seal opposite the handle end, that sticks out. It should, to last. But putting it in as the directions say, didn't work for me. It wasn't centered.Instead:Before taking apart, set the old handle squarely over the word "INLET" marked on the old cover. Note the positioning of the old diverter assembly inside, with respect to the valve body when you take it apart.Lubricate all the new O-rings as directed. Do NOT force the new cover over the new diverter assembly (yet).Take the new diverter assembly by itself, no cover on it, position it such that the keying on the shaft to where the handle will be later, is over where the word "INLET" was when the valve had the old cover on it.You will see that the diverter does not want to be centered, and appears not to fit. This is because of the new strong seal built onto the slider. Keep the diverter in that position anyway. Then put the cover over the diverter in the proper orientation, AND USING THE COVER, pull the cover and diverter assembly in the direction to make all the cover screw holes line up. You are compressing tightly the seal on the new slider. While holding it tightly centered, hand start all the screws. Tighten alternately like lug nuts on a car. Keep holding that cover in position the whole time, until all screws are all tight!DO NOT use the screws to try to center the cover! The valve body plastic plastic was not designed for that kind of force! YOU apply force to center the cover, to compress the sliding seal on the diverter.

Go with the OEM parts for Jandy 1154 valves
I have old, gray, Jandy valves, model 1154. I confirmed this with the valve manufacturer, Jandy. I received this gatevalve/lid/o-rings kit and out of the box it looked perfect. Unfortunately, the long shaft, with the two smaller O-rings stacked on each other, was LONGER than the OEM shaft by about 1/4" - too long to allow the Jandy cover to be closed and screwed down. I thought, okay, I'll cut the shaft down to match the OEM. I did. Still had no luck. The gate valve, when the short shaft end was seated in the bottom receptacle of the Jandy housing, was not centered... the long shaft was not centered in the Jandy housing. It was canted too far to one side not allowing the cover to be easily seated and then screwed down. It almost looked as though the seal on the gate face was too thick to allow perfect orientation. I'll likely need to go with the more expensive OEM rebuild kit. I usually have pretty good luck with the non-OEM parts I've bought on Amazon over many years but this one was a no go.

It doesn’t fit-correction, it does fit
The insert tube was not the same as the existing one I wanted to replace, so it’s not usable. Also, parts are plastic. I was able to use the o-ring and silicone lubricant to reuse my existing parts. Correction- I had the piece upside down. It works great!
