YIMI Polarized Photochromic Driving z87 Sunglasses For Men Women Day and Night safety glasses

Man, I don't normally give reviews like this. I first bought a pair of these in january of 2024. I was fairly impressed with them considering how inexpensive they are. So in june of 2025, I bought another pair to put in my other car. I still have both pair and both pair are still in good condition. I use them for driving, and I use them at work where I drive a golf/utility cart around at an amusment park in sunny tampa florida. One pair still has no scratches. The other pair has one tiny little scratch and I don't even put them in their case. I just throw them in the passenger seat. And as long as i've mentioned it, the case that these things come with seems to be very good quality also. Currently, I am using the cases for a pair of ray bans, and a pair of smiths that I have, so that's how much I trust their cases. ( I always try to use a generic case or bag for my good glasses. It makes them less attractive to thieves) The clarity is very impressive, much better than I expected for the price. I will say the whole photochronic thing is bull, they do not get darker when you go in the sun and they do not get lighter when you go back indoors, so don't expect that part to be true, also, they try to make the claim that these are z87 glasses ( z87 means that they are approved by osha as industrial safety glasses), but I don't see the z87 stamped on the arm, and I think that's a mandatory thing for z87 glasses, but aside from those 2 things, for a pair of sunglasses under thirty dollars, these things are very impressive. Normally when I buy cheap sunglasses, they last me about one summer season and then they're just too scratched up for me to wanna use anymore. From now on, whenever I need a pair of cheap glasses, these are the ones i'm buying.

I decided to give these a try and they are wonderful or me! They stay only slightly tinted whenever you are not in any direct sunlight and at night. I have a car with LED lights, and I have to drive with my fog lights on so I don't get high-beamed by other cars. I get it, my car's lights are a bit bright, but I promise it is only the low beams. I now only get high-beamed occasionally, but I see other cars (especially at night) with way brighter lights than myself and the occasional person who drives with their high beams and don't care. I like these for night driving, as the polarized glasses cut back the glare from oncoming cars. They fit comfortable and come with a case and rag for cleaning them. They darken fairly quickly when you are in the sun, as you can see with the photo I am including. The only thing that I had to get used to was seeing either side of the frames where the joints are in my peripheral vision all the time. It isn't a deal breaker for me, as I got used to it and I don't eve notice it, but others should know about it, as it is like wearing a helmet, as you can see the little joint on either side and see it move as you move your head from side to side, ha! That is just a minor thing for me, as these are comfortable to me and the arms (legs, whatever) of the glasses do allow for over extending for those with bigger heads, like me. The nose guards for the rest are made of a rubbery material, but they are comfortable to me.

I bought these to help with glare while driving a night to cut glare and brightness on today's super bright headlights. To this affect they do help some. While testing against my $200 polarized fishing glasses there is no comparison, as those (the $200 ones) totally cut glare and any "staring effect" from viewing oncoming lights or other glare. But then again, you can't wear darkened sunglasses at night :-). So, these are not too bad for helping out as they do cut SOME glare and since they are "transitional" they are fairly clear at night not to hinder darker areas where a contrast may cause an issue. I really have not tried out in sunlight to see about the transition darkening efficiency, and glare cutting. I gave these a 4 star strictly because not "fully" polarized. In-other words they do not totally restrict light passage when held at 90 degrees with a known good polarized set of glasses. I would say maybe a 60% cut of light. I feel if polarization was better the glare reduction would be higher. As stated above the slight reduction of glare at night is a only a slight help, but enough of glare reduction to keep me wearing them, as they do fit and feel good. These also seem to be "optically correct". In-other words, they keep the field of view and objects in the field of view in place when lifting up and down to "test" the efficacy of anti glare, and, as well as they do not increase the size of objects. Overall, not bad but not the "holy grail" for night driving.

I really thought I’d stumbled onto something amazing and since the reviews were mostly positive I was excited to purchase these. Now I don’t understand why there are so many good reviews. I always try to be as positive as possible because I don’t want to have a part in taking income from someone, unless I feel that I’ve been ripped off. I don’t feel ripped off but I do feel mislead. I’ll start by saying something nice, the glasses are comfortable and come with a decent “free” case to store them in. The look and quality are decent. My desired outcome was simple, to go from the bright light outside to the dimmer light indoors and have sunglasses that adjusted to the changing light. Even if it wasn’t as dramatic as prescribed glasses with the same technology, I was sold. I like to keep my sensitive eyes protected from UV light but I have lost so many pairs of sunglasses because I’m constantly taking them on and off. These are slightly shaded but there has been no discernible change in tint whether I put them face up in direct sunlight, or if they’re sitting on my desk in my office. For my needs, these are no more useful than my cheapest pair of sunglasses. If you want a stylish pair of sunglasses that aren’t very dark and can be worn indoors, these might work for you but understand that (at least with the pair I received) you’re not getting sunglasses that adjust to protect your eyes according to the sun’s brightness outside. I’ll try to grab some pics of these in full sun vs on my desk and share them.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed that my vision has changed when I’m driving at night. Things look a little more blurry, and I noticed a lot more glare. It’s especially worse when it’s dark and raining. I wear contact lenses and get my vision checked regularly. My prescription has not changed and it seems fine during the day. I saw these glasses on Amazon and thought I would give them a try to see if they could help with the glare and blurriness at night. I first tried them on a rainy night while riding as a passenger on the freeway. I put the glasses on and took them off several times to see if there was a difference and I saw none. I tried them another time while I was driving at dusk and again saw no difference. Lastly, I tried them on a dry dark night and the glare from other cars headlights was still just as bad with or without the glasses. I came to the final conclusion that these glasses do not work to reduce any glare or blurriness for me during night driving. I do not recommend them if that’s the reason why you are buying them.

for the price they charge they work amazing super well built its being close to a year since I bought them and they work amazing even at night, I thought they were fake but no! they do work!

Wear these shades everyday ! Had cataract surgery recently and these do “the trick” with sensitive to bright sun light. And stylish too.

I use it to drive now in the winter time and it has helped me a lot to avoid the reflection of the snow. These glasses are very practical, lightweight and adjust to the size of my face.
