UPDATE: After several trips and using this thing, I'm updating to 5 stars and have even ordered a second one. In fact, this is one of the top 3 accessories I've purchased for my trailer. It makes waste hose storage extremely convenient and is probably the most sanitary option. The reason I purchase this is because I had to buy two 10' extension hoses. A single tube will not a 15' tube AND a 10' tube. I believe though, that it should hold two 10' extensions if completely collapsed. One More Note: When storing your hose, extend it, then start feeding it in the tube so that it hangs out.....then collapse the hose until it fits snug, end to end inside the tube. This makes it easier to reach and pull out next time and keep it from sliding back and forth, building momentum and possibly blowing out the doors at the end. ORIGINAL: The rear bumper on my new travel trailer isn't big enough to hold a waste line, so I started looking at DIY options. The only option I could find was using 5" square PVC fence posts, and engineering a hinge and cap system. It's not hard, but after pricing out the parts needed (and still having to figure out how to mount it), I was over $60 in materials. This adjustable tube required no extra fabricating, other than some self-tapping metal screws. The fact that it's adjustable makes this thing worth every penny. I mounted it under my trailer, just to the rear of my tank drains and it fits perfect, it easily holds the hose and extra coupler. Installation notes: have someone with you to hold the thing. I did this solo and it's a pain. I did one half at a time, and I really should have used some boards as a support system or something to hold up the end in the middle of the trailer. I mount directly to the I-beam frames and used self-tapping screws (it should just come with those). I should have used washers but didn't have any with me. Even with a good Milwaukee drill, driving the screws through the frame was difficult, especially, working "up" instead of down. I actually dulled a screw on each hole and then finished with a fresh, sharp screw to push it all the way through. START THE FIRST, WITHOUT THE TUBE. I made this mistake the first two screws and nearly ate all the plastic out from around the screw hole. It's not heavy duty PVC and the sides of the screws will rip that plastic up if (and when) that screw slips on you. Get a pilot hole started, then mount the tube and finish, to avoid destroying the plastic mounting bracket. There was no way for me to mount a bracket in the middle....one I would have needed to jack up the trailer and two, there's not center beam for me to get to. I still feel confident this won't fail, but plan to check it between every trip to ensure the brackets aren't ripping out.....that's the spot where this will fail if it does. I'm fine with the tube being thin and light, but wish the mounting brackets were reinforced...even with maybe metal linings or something. I think the closer to the wheels you mount this, the better, to minimize the bounce and shock that would eventually cause the bracket to fail (again....use washers....that will help spread the pressure out). The door latches are also fairly flimsy. They're held in place by friction and the pressure of the spring hinge on the doors. I don't trust that these won't pop open in transit, so I'll be placing small locks on each door for that, as well as theft reasons. Other than those minor things (reason for 4 stars, not 5), this thing is perfect and cheaper than the DIY options you'll find on Pinterest, etc. I'd highly recommend it for any camper/RV.

I wanted to add another storage unit under my 5th wheel camper to keep extra drain hoses in. This item is just what I needed. It is easy to install and even comes with the extra saddle clamps for mounting so you don't have to buy any. Seems really made. Now I have proper storage for all of my stinky slinkies.

I just got it installed under our 1987 vintage motor home. I decided to mount it front to back rather than side to side. That way I could get more length out of it, while accessing it easy from inside the sewer and water compartment. It was relatively easy to install by myself once I saw where everything was going to mount. I drilled holes and used my own screws due to the more delicate nature of the metal/wood storage compartments I was mounting to. For that reason I can't say how the included self-tapping screws work on a frame. Now as for usefulness, I think I'll love using this thing. For one thing, I'm basically freeing up a good chunk of storage in the bin that I can use for other things. For another, the stinky slinky is now easy to access right from where I'm already working in the sewer compartment - without having to pull a tote out of the bin. It looks great too, and I think it'll last a long time. Keep in mind that it's just for the hose, not for accessories. I did find that the elbow at the hose end fits in there, along with the removed sewer hole connector piece (inserted separately before closing the lid). I'll still have to use a small storage tote to keep some of the other accessories in the bin, but that's not a big deal. I'm happy with the purchase, and my wife is happy to free up the extra storage. Special thanks to my Luna the cat for supervising the project. :-D

I ended up welding bolts to the bottom of my frame and securing it with lock nuts and washers, but this thing is a huge improvement versus the tiny little side pocket for the waist hose storage. I can keep like 15 feet of hose in this thing when I spin it across my frame.

NICE!!!! A1 product! I have an pullout extension on the back of the camper so I decided to mount it in front of the axels. It was easy to mount as all the goodies came with it. The hardest part for me was WHERE did I want to put it. I decided and had it installed in about 15 minutes. I added a few more tiedown to it because it was in front of my axels and figured it's just extra insurance for me. I put a little "D" ring on both ends to lock it, but you can use a small lock if you wanted to. Looks nice under there to me, well made and will telescope in or out to meet your needs. Myself it extends a couple inches past the frame but still under the camper and EASY TO REACH.

Easy installation

Oh Valterra, how I love thee! We have a tiny TAB trailer which doesn't have much room for extra things like sewer hose storage. Many tabbers have bought the hose carrier and affixed it to the side of the trailers tongue. That wouldn't work for our trailer as we already have the spare tire attached to the tongue on one side and the electronic brake controller attached to the other. We ended up taking the suggestion of other tabbers and cut through the bottom of our front tub and ran it across the front of our trailer. Looks factory installed (unless of course you look real close. LOL)!! The hose carrier is very well made and extends with ease. I was worried that the opening of the carrier would not be big enough for our sewer valve to fit in but the hose and all needed attachments fit perfectly in the carrier! We were able to secure it at the desired length without difficulty. The end caps shut nicely but I wanted extra peace of mind that they wouldn't fly open during travel if we hit bumpy roads. I bought two very small (not average size) carabiners from my local store and they fit perfect in the holes of the end caps to ensure added security. Super happy with this purchase and much cheaper than others I looked at, so all in all, you can't go wrong with it! Would highly recommend!

I have an RV with a compartment for sewer hoses but it does not work with any sewer hose I have tried. I purchase this carrier and bought extra large zip ties to attach it on top of the useless bumper storage. It works great. I expect the zippies to break down due to weather so I check them during my pre-trip inspection. So far they have last over a year in the deep south. The storage tube looks good and works great. I made my last one....the closures did not work as well.

Excellent product !! Very sturdy and was easy to install. Would highly recommend to store your septic hose instead of jamming it into your bumper !!

J’ai acheté ce produit, car j’ai eu à quelques reprises le malheur de ne plus être en mesure de sortir mon tuyau de mon pare-choc, dont la dernière fois, j’ai brisé mon tuyau avec un balais et ce n’était pas drôle, il y avait des fuites. Alors j”ai cherché une solution de remplacement. C’est un bon produit, mais j’ai une crainte sur le loquet des portes qui me semble fagile. Il est malheureux que l’on ne donne ou offre pas des brides d’installation s’attachant sur les 3 supports (il y a 6 vis Philips inutiles, j’ai utilisé des vis auto persantes pour métal), car je n’ai pas été en mesure d’en trouver. Pour ce qui est de l’installation, j’ai opté sous le pare-choc arrière en utilisant les deux barres reliant le pare-choc au frame de ma roulotte pour y visser les deux supports aux extrémités. Malheureusement j’ai utilisé une seule vis pour le support central. Prendre note que l’on perd environ 24 pouces au total pour fixer le tout. Il faut fait attention de ne pas nuire au déploiement des supports arrières de la roulotte. L’option d’une installation sous le frame me semblait difficile sur les accès subséquents. Tenant compte que l’on perd 24 pouces, il se peut que le toyau d’égout ne rentre plus. Dans mon cas, çá rentre de justesse. I bought this product, because I had a few times the misfortune to no longer be able to get my sewer hose out of my bumper, the last time, I broke my sewer hose with a broom and this wasn’t funny, there were leaks. So I looked for an alternative solution. It's a good product, but I have a fear on the door latch that seems fagile to me. It is unfortunate that they do not provide or offer the installation brackets (there are 6 useless Philips screws, I used self sticking screws for metal) because I have not been able to find any. As for the installation, I opted under the rear bumper using the two bars connecting the bumper to the frame of my trailer to screw the two supports at the ends. Unfortunately I used only one screw for the central support. Take note that you lose about 24 inches total to fix everything. The option of an installation under the frame seemed to me difficult on subsequent access. Considering that you lose 24 inches, the sewer hose may not fit. In my case, it was just enough.

Pricey but so is collecting and building a pvc/abs pipe unit. Ultimately building one gets pricey chasing the correct size end caps. This was way easier and includes everything plus it’s adjustable length.
