Don't miss out
I started (and finished) the new novel “Escape & Evade” from JT Sawyer yesterday. I haven’t started and finished a novel the same day for a while. It seems Nick Mercer is living a quiet life in rural Utah when his CIA past catches up to him in a big way. It seems Nick spent some time in Africa training some indigenous personnel and had a run in with a billionaire diamond smuggler. Nick might have ended up with some of the smuggler’s product and 5 years later the smuggler’s ‘security team’ and the CIA might have found him. Sawyer’s own experience as a wilderness expert plays a big part as Nick and Luce (his dog) try to escape into the wilds of Utah. There are plenty of twists and turns and not everyone is who they seem to be. This was a fast moving and action filled story. As someone who has spent a little time hiking in the Utah desert, I really appreciated Sawyer’s descriptions of the terrain and its major role in the story. The characters are fleshed out and believable, the action realistic and intense. Everything I look for in a thriller. E&E sets itself up perfectly for another ‘episode. Highly recommended.

good read
Liked the pace of the book and the characters. Of course the dog was a great add. Would’ve given the book 5 stars but for the poor grammar. Finishing sentences with “at” drive me crazy. Example: “Where you at” should be: “Where are you.” It’s simple to fix.

A great story.
I liked the action, book had twists I didn't see coming. The good guys were very honorable and cared about the people they were helping . I had a hard time stopping reading it to go to bed. Highly recommend this book.

A great start for a JT Sawyer adventure!
This story has a lot of similar story lines as some of it's previous books, but it was still very interesting and action filled at every stage

Escape & Evade -
This was a good read though it did contain a great deal of the tougest guy on the planet scenarios. Its saving grace was that the main character had flaws and seemed almost human.

good read
A good book. Good descriptions of the area around SE Utah. Exciting enough and short enough to make looking forward to the next one

Fun, short survival thriller (light humor, minimal gore)
Enjoyable read that kept a good pace. The main character is competent but not unrealistically perfect. Also there isn't a great deal of dumb mistakes that are just used to move the plot forward. Well thought out, subtle, and well written.

Good read, but thin...
I love the action, of course. But compared to a 4 rating, it's thin. Not much background and just enough to flesh out the characters.More introspection and secondary character development would add meat to the story.

JT does it again! .
Great adventure with non-stop action. As always, characters are believable and real. The ending keeps you looking forward to their next encounter.

I really liked this book,an interesting story about a ex CIA operative hiding in a small town as a woodworker who then is confronted by his past catching up with him.

Good read
The only fault I can find with this book is that it was over too quickly. JT Sawyer usually writes series not individual stories, shame he didn't do that here. I think he missed a trick, he could easily have spun the story out longer. It takes place over the course of only two days, the love interest is only touched on. It could easily have been expanded over say three books. I only saw one typo & a couple of small errors.I would recommend this book.
