Doesn’t Look Like Leather But Close Enough
In the ‘90s I wanted a nice, fitted black leather vest so bad. I finally got one as a present from someone I am in contact with no longer. It was about 3 sizes too large. I kept trying to make it work, but it overpowered every shirt I would wear it with. My girlfriends loved it, though, because it was like a sexy tank top for them. Some of these women were quite buxom, and they looked fierce in it. I’m small. It looked like a sleeveless smock on me.Flash forward: vests are out, leather is a PETA no-no, and my girlfriends are all married and no longer need such attire to catch a potential’s attention. But I still wanted that vest, dammit!I came across this one. It was inexpensive. It was politically correct (sorta) and from the photos, it seemed passable. I bought it. I would have liked a small, but a medium had to do. It arrived. I took off my shirt, just like my girlfriends used to do, I strapped it on, and…It was OK. Yeah, it was only OK. It didn’t have the weight of real leather. It was a bit wrinkly, which I think I can iron out, and it fit like a medium. I guess I’ll only wear it with a shirt. But that could be a big plus. Everything from a solid colored tee to a button down with long sleeves would look very nice with this. No one is going to be fooled that it’s genuine leather, but does that matter? It could still be a focal point of a great outfit. An Urban Cowboy look for the 2000s, if you will.I like the pockets; I like the lining. It’s a great buy for the price. I’m keeping it, wearing it, and owning it. I pretty highly recommend it, but you should have a plan to get the crease marks out. Trust me.

Fits great, Excellent Make, Looks Plastic
I wasn't sure what to expect in this vest, but I needed a new vest and the price wasn't bad. When I first opened the package, I thought I'd received a plastic kids-toy vest. This was mostly due to the color (plain brown with no texture) and the shiny, plastic look. The vest has no ornate detail and no leather-like texture - it's just simple, evenly colored vinyl-like material with basic seams and pockets. It looked a little better in the images in the listing - in person it's too even and too clean for my expectations. This coloring and shine is not necessarily a flaw or fault in the design. The jacket is made of an "artificial leather" that is made of synthetic material (polyester, etc). It's thicker than a kid's plastic cowboy vest but not as thick as an actual leather vest. The inside has a nice cloth lining and the workmanship is great: the seams are sewn perfectly. The jacket itself fit comfortably as advertised, so the sizing is correct.I suppose my personal taste is what skews the value of this vest to me. If I were to look at this as a trendy high-fashion look ... maybe a "retro kid's vest" or "action-figure look", this vest is of very good quality and only looks silly. As I mentioned above, it is well-made and comfortable. I'd expected a faux leather, with stamped texture or intentional discoloration, and normally prefer black over brown (but had decided to add a little retro look to my wardrobe). If you are going for the plastic look, this is a fine vest at a great price.

Works for what I need
So, I actually got this for my daughter's Halloween costume. She was going as a Steampunk era and she's relatively wide, so this fit her perfectly. Quality is decent but it's pretty fake looking as far as the leather look is concerned. Great for a costume not sure how I would feel about it as regular wear, but maybe that's just me. It works great for what I needed it for. Would also work well for a pirate costume or cowboy. Happy with it but probably wouldn't have paid $25 for it personally.

PU leather vest
Looks as pictured. Soft PU exterior with a Polyester lining. The PU leather makes it a very warm vest to wear. Runs on the smaller size.

Fits better than I expected
I got this for my son since he wants to be a businessman for Halloween. It smelled plastic like so I let it air out for a few hours. The fit is better than I expected and buttons up with no issues. He's wearing it with a button down shirt and the sizing is perfect since I went a size up. its not the kind of vest that he'll be wearing to an event so I'm fine with it.

Lightweight, A Decent Simulated Leather Sheen, A Little Tighter Than The Size Chart Says
This vest is lightweight, has a fairly decent sheen for a simulated leather, and, would be very comfortable if it weren’t tighter than the size chart describes. The 3X size I got is pretty snug on my body so just keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s a nice vest and would fit well for someone a little thinner than me.FYI, I’m 6’ 260# with a big beer gut and this vest is tight around my solar plexus.

Decent
Looks pretty decent for $20. From a distance it sort of looks like leather, but up close you can tell it's just polyurethane. The fitment is pretty much perfect and overall it's a decent vest for once-in-a-while use.

Looks and feels cheap and runs 1-2 sizes too small
I know this is faux leather, but this just feels so thin and cheap, that besides it running way too small, it wouldn't even button up,(ordered as my usual, an XL) I just don't see it ever being worn.
