How long or how closely spaced are the magnets ? I don’t want a lot of gaps, kinda defeats the purpose

The hall door I want this curtain for is 32 inches (81cm) directly across from a gas wall furnace. Will it melt/burn if installed that close?

It might be a good idea to put up a heat shield of some type between the furnace and the door. Over time the material could melt after exposure.
