Bought this cafetiere for my grandson a s a gift at Christmas. He loves it , just the right size for his needs.

Really stylish and good looking coffee maker. nice and sleek and looks great on our counter. Empty, it feels weighty enough to feel quality. Handle seems robust. Filter works well but as with any cafetiere you have to let the coffee sit for a while or you'll end up with a silty texture. The press feels solid, it's mademl of solid metal. Whilst the lid is metal it's metal wrapped around a plastic body - It's very light weight and sits loosely in the carafe so it feels a bit cheap but does the job. I knocked one star off due to the ergonomics of the handle. At that angle it is awkward to pick up and I almost think it would be better to hold of the handle was inverted. As the handle is, it looks good but doesn't feel natural to hold.

I had to return this because the carafe was cracked on delivery. As usual, Amazon's returns procedure was very efficient - my account was credited within minutes of my have delivered the parcel to my Collect+ depot.However, I'm submitting a review to warn other buyers of a feature that meant I would have sent it back anyway. The diameter of the carafe is very small, even allowing that it is a 3-cup press. It would make loading coffee into it from a grinder quite tricky, or, at least, messy. So why did I order it, you all chorus? Because the product description quotes a diameter MUCH larger than is actually the case. I think it must show the total width, including the handle; or maybe it's just a misprint.

You can make 1 and a half cups at best. Might as well get the bigger version for the price. Far too expensive for what you get.

The top unscrews leaving us completely unable to unscrew the filter and properly clean it.What a terrible design. Otherwise it works.
