This is the second Manscaped shaver that I bought. Original one I have is from probably about 4 years ago maybe five I didn't buy it on Amazon I bought it at Target. First thing I did with the new one was take it out and try to foil on my face with 3 days growth and it took it clean off no pulls no nicks no problem. The bottom part is textured now so it's easier to hold when it's wet very quiet easily changes heads and the weight is way lighter. It doesn't have a base like my other did to charge but it has wireless charging and by the way it came 3/4 charged. I originally bought this one with the foil for my wife to use on her legs but I think it's going to get more use on my face than her legs I may just have to buy her her own. Photo includes the two side by side and by the way my old one still works perfectly. Would definitely recommend buying these they are a bit expensive but you get what you pay for they're worth every dollar.

DO NOT BUY THIS.. first one only lasted about a month. It wouldn't work after the first charge.. got a warranty replacement and that one only lasted about the same maybe more.. I put it on the charger for the 3rd time cuz it was completely dead, and then it just randomly started buzzing and wouldn't turn off.

EDIT Early this AM while preparing to return this device because it doesn't trim as close as I wanted, there was this peculiar tab sticking out of the box that said "Read before use." Attached to that tab was an instruction booklet. And in that booklet were diagrams describing the different trim heights for the myriad of attachments that this thing came with... I realized, much to my chagrin, that I was not mentally equipped to handle a device that gave numerous choices in specific hair length and very unfairly rated the 5.0 at two stars. Manscaped customer service even reached out to help. I have rightfully raised the rating for this device as the phenomenon that I was encountering was less a flaw in grooming technology, rather just a defect within operator headspace. Please do yourself a favor, and read the instructions to aid in your selection of your required hair length. PREVIOUS REVIEW Current modern trends in men's grooming standards have led to the proliferation of men's grooming devices. Although I do follow recent standards, I remain very old-school in mentality. I have owned a Manscaped 2.0 since its genesis circa 2018. This device was a "no-frills" compact groomer whose battery life had begun diminishing over time (as expected). Adjusting to its shorter operating time was not that great of an obstacle, however, the larger issue of razor burn surfaced. My poor 2.0 fought valiantly for over half a decade, but unfortunately, it became time to part ways. The next hurdle became the price point as the new machines are about twice the price of the old ones. Fortunately, I was able to get a bundle deal and add a nose trimmer and a bag (if it arrives) for about $110ish. I was excited to be able to have Manscaped most developed device, and (for some reason) excited that it was USB C vs standard charger. That is where the happiness ended. My first attempt to use the 5.0 resulted in not only frustration, some injury, and far longer time spent grooming due to its shaving head. Upon delivery, the 5.0 has a plastic head attached to the grooming surface which allows for controlled cutting lengths. I prefer to groom down to the skin so that wasn't ideal for me, but the plastic head was attached in a way that made me assume I would break it if I continued to force it off. As soon as it tore some hair from a place that I don't want to name in an Amazon review, that plastic head came right (explicit) off. After feeling dumb (and not wanting to admit to the wife that I didn't read the instructions) I thought it was going to be smooth (pun intended) sailing. That was not the case. This new device appears to be manufactured with safety involved (probably for people like me) and the cutting head remains much further back (from the cutting area) than my 2.0 which doesn't allow for close cuts, and requires extensive passes to remove the hair. So not only does the 5.0 take a longer time to pick up the hair due to its safe design, it doesn't even cut close enough to the skin. After two different attempts at using their newest feature-rich device, I am unfortunately going to commit a cardinal sin and send this (now used) grooming device back to its maker. p.s. I did enjoy the flashlight feature far more than I would have thought.

I've tried a few different trimmers over the years, and this is easily my favorite. It feels well made, the battery lasts a long time, and it gets the job done without pulling or nicking. The different attachments are nice to have depending on what you're trimming, and it's easy to clean afterward. It's a little more expensive than some other options, but I think it's worth it for the quality. I'd definitely buy it again.

It’s affordable, easy to use, provides 0 skin irritation, the blades cut beautifully, and it holds powerful charge for hours. I see what some of yall are saying about the snag, but if you shave little by little you’ll even get to the skin no problem. If you truly want 0 snags stop going all in and expecting the product to cut it all. It’s a lawnmower for a reason. You can’t cut 5 feet tall grass and say “I should’ve worked”. Take y’all’s time.

Ok. I got this thing two years ago, and the only reason I'm reviewing it now is because I'm shopping for a new one, and this showed up in my search as, "Purchased before". I'm shopping for a new one because the previous two year old purchase won't take a charge, or it won't work for more than two seconds. In any case, it's kinda worthless. Not sure if it is from keeping it in the shower. I don't recall any admonitions against that in the documents that came with it. Supposed to be ok to use in the shower, right? I figured it would be ok to keep it in there. It sat on a shelf where it wasn't constantly sprayed with water. Idunno ... Up to the point it failed, it was pretty much flawless. It did a nice job, stayed sharp, and I didn't look like I was either homeless, or living in the 70s. Anyway, I'm shopping, and this is still on my radar. Kinda contemplated looking at something a bit less expensive. I mean, if it does a comparable job at a third of the price, replacing it every couple years seem more reasonable.

Es muy posible irritarse la piel, pero cortarse como lo podrían llegar a hacer los modelos anteriores es simplemente imposible. La otra cosa que se agradece bastante es que se pueda prender y apagar la luz en la afeitadora. No es la herramienta de trimming perfecta, pero se acerca bastante.

Really happy with this trimmer. It feels well made, is comfortable to hold, and gives a clean, smooth trim without pulling or irritating the skin. I also like having the different trimming and foil-head options depending on how close I want the shave. The waterproof design makes cleanup very easy, and USB-C charging is a nice convenience. Overall, it’s a solid grooming tool and definitely feels like an upgrade from cheaper trimmers I’ve used before.
