This flatware has perfect weight balance which I felt when I first used it. Well made and looks great. Value for the money.

This set is timeless but to maintain its appearance, you MUST NOT leave it in water or let it air dry. Either handwash and dry immediately or use the dishwasher heated dry cycle. I’ve been using (2) sets for more than a year and they look as good as the day I received it.

Updated from 3 to 5 stars. These utensils have lasted 6 years with no wear or breakage. The large forks are my favorite for salads and the like. Small spoons fit in small places like cat food can to get it all out. We still have older utensils and the knife from this set is my favorite for anything. They're nice and heavy. Love these utensils.

I am SO happy with this order! They're even better than I had imagined and I've been using them less than a week. These are clearly very solid, sturdy and good quality. I love that they're modern/contemporary but not overly so -- the squared end is not too 'sharp' either. The flatware I previously owned had very pointy corners at the base of the portion that you grip. However, these edges are squared yet not sharp. I love the clean simple lines, and am also really in love with the way the neck tapers to where the head of the spoon/fork is... The shape of this tapered section is not captured well in photos, but in real life it has a certain elegance. Also, I love that these have a little more weight toward the bottom (i.e. fork prongs) than I am used to... It feel so nice to hold! They're also finished very well, super smooth, no rough edges. They light up my kitchen drawer now and I'm so happy. I also love the shape of the forks -- not too spiky and sharp looking, but not too bulbous. The same goes for the spoons: they have the perfect round/oval shape/egg, and the perfect depth. Some spoons out there these days are so unattractive and shallow and almost square in shape. Can't stand those. These are all-round perfection in my eyes. I love these and would absolutely order again. (I think this is my first-ever Amazon review. I don't like reviewing things, but am so please with these I wanted everyone to know!)

It's Mikasa brand. I found the weight to be quite nice; meaning there was sturdiness and heaviness to the utensils. The feel was smooth and didn't "cut into" the fingers. I bought these for my elderly mother-in-law's home because she has downsized a bit and I remembered she had less than 4 place settings worth of everyday eating utensils. That just wasn't going to work for hubby and me with a recently unplanned and indefinite stay in her home. I have become accustomed to the 20+ year old sets of Guy DeGrenne flatware and have tried the cheaper sets. Mikasa has been a brand familiar to me, but I hadn't purchased before. I am truly impressed with this $50ish four place set!

Very nice set! Only one small problem, two of the butter knives have a noticeable bend to them that I can't seem to straighten, but overall a very solid set, comfortable in the hand and easy to clean
