This is the best syrup for coffees. I use this in conjunction with my Tassimo to make Amaretto flavoured coffees. It tastes like liqueur coffee, but is non alcoholic. I really like Amaretto liqueur and this syrup is less expensive than Amaretto, so better value for putting in coffees. It's perfect if you have teetotal guests too. They can have the taste of a liqueur coffee without feeling guilty.

It's Monin the best syrup ever... I like the flavour and that it contains sugar (I hate skinny syrups), good quality for money... You can add it not only to coffee, but to cake, ice cream and desserrs. The only negative is that it is inside a plastic container, which is not favourable for the environment.

So it seems the great syrup debate rages online about which is better; Monin or 1883? Well I decided to give both a try to be as objective as possible and in my honest opinion... 1883 wins! Just. It's not that there is anything wrong with the Monin syrup, it is very nice and if 1883 syrup did not exist I'd take it in a heartbeat. However I've found that you need more of the Monin syrup to get the same flavour as the 1883. That said the 1883 syrup is more expensive than the Monin syrup so perhaps it evens itself out overall. So pay less, but use more or pay more and use less. That's the choice to make. For what it's worth, I'll be sticking with 1883 from now on.

I have the syrup in my coffee, and I add it to cold drinks too! Tastes lovely if you mix it with a cherry syrup too, if you love amaretto flavouring, you will love this product, I think Monin is my favourite brand for this flavour of syrup.

Was worried it would have a short expiry date being a large bottle and with buying it online. But had over 18 months and vacuumed packed so no complaints
