Best timer for the commercial baker
I am a commercial baker and have three of these timers, all between 5-6 years old and they have basically been through war. I switched to this timer because the other brands I used would break when they fall and usually stop working. This timer might have some of the structural parts break when it falls on the hard concrete floor, like the magnet falling off, or the hinge breaking, but the timer has *never* stopped working. Over the years, these has fallen *many* times with the battery flying across the room, but the timer always works just fine as soon as you put the battery back in (not the case with the many other timers I have tried, which often broke with the first drop). This is what I need in a timer when I rely on it so heavily! You can always super glue the magnet on if need be and it will last many more years. I will also say that even though it occasionally falls when I am in a hurry, it falls much less than other timers I have used because the magnet is stronger. It is easy to read, it is loud, and it is reliable. It is just what I need. As long as they continue making this, I will never buy another timer.

Why I really like this particular timer for my uses
I discovered this LUX CU100 Minute Minder timer in physical therapy, where they used them to time exercise repetitions, and knew at once I wanted it.1. Aside from the old fashioned twist dial ticker-type timers, this is the fastest and easiest timer to set I've run across.2. When you hit the stop button it automatically resets to the previous time, so it's great if you are doing something requiring a repetition of the same time.3. Easy set, easy reset. Press the MIN button to add minutes. Press the SEC button to add seconds. Press both for instant delete back to 0000. If you want a lot of minutes or seconds, just press that button and hold. (I timed it: it takes just 8 seconds to add 60 minutes to the minute side.)4. If you want just seconds, just add seconds. How many kitchen timers have you had that required - if you wanted just 45 seconds - that you do something like entering two zeros first (to fill the minute spaces) and then 4-5?5. Start and stop are on the same big button, not separate little buttons as on many timers.6. Very small size, easy to carry in shirt pocket, but big, clear read-out. (Not lighted.)7. Magnet on back to attach to metal. Tiny fold out stand to stand it on a counter or any flat top.8. Uses standard, common AAA battery found anywhere.9. Cheap. I paid about $12 on Amazon. I see they are now about $13.Granted, there are lots of specialized timers this won't compete with for special tasks. We have a kitchen timer with three timers on it, which is occasionally useful. But it's also much more tedious to use, and a lot bigger. Another small timer requires remembering patterns to set.

Extremely Loud
I purchased this timer for my husband. He uses this while flying his RC airplanes to time the flight time for the battery operated planes. When the timer goes off, he knows he needs to wrap it up and bring it in for a landing before the battery dies. After it goes off, he hits the Start/Stop button to silence it and the timer automatically resets to the time he previously had it set for. He loves this feature as all of his batteries have a flight time of 6 minutes and he can simply set the timer for 6 minutes, push start, take off and when the timer sounds off he just pushes the Start/Stop button again, lands and inserts a fresh battery and pushes Start/Stop again. Works like a charm. The buttons are big enough for my husband's fingers making them easy to use without looking directly at the timer. The clip is a necessity as he clips the timer to his collar or the lanyard for his radio, keeping it easily within reach. He does crash sometimes and needs to go hiking to retrieve his planes. When this happens, he not thinking about the timer and doesn't remove it from the lanyard or his collar but the clip is powerful and has yet to disconnect from him no matter how far he treks or how many fences he hops over. This timer is also extremely loud. A huge benefit as my husband has a significant hearing loss after years of working in underground coal mines. This timer is very reliable, sturdy, easy to operate and easy to read. It's clip is extremely durable and strong. I highly recommend this timer to anyone.

Easy. Long lasting.
I love this timer. I bought my first one in May 2014 so it lasted approximately 6 years. It's actually still working but the alarm sound has gotten low. That being said I have used this item every single day whether it is to time the laundry, time the cooking, time my son on the Xbox, you name it and we use it all around the apartment and around the kitchen. amazing. So I bought the second one 2_2020 and I am very happy with it . I would highly recommend this timer. Update. Today 6-23-22 I lost my timer but I am buying it again (third one)because it is so perfect; I cannot live without it. It's nice and loud too. If it goes off in the kitchen, I can hear it loud and clearly in the bedroom with the TV on. Also, there is nothing complicated about it. For ten minutes, hit the minute button 10 times, hit start and Voila!
