Worth every penny
Grabbed this Prime day deal because this stuff is expensive!! ... but we've been doing the normal transition slowly to this food. No problems with his usual food at all, just wanted to see if something else might be better for his allergies (not food related). I put this down with his other kibble side by side and he DEVOURS the RC and then goes to finish his old kibble. I mean I don't know what it smells or tastes like LOL but he does and he loves it. So far we are seeing much smaller poops as well - always a plus. Unless something major occurs down the road, I am SOLD on this food. And I know how much science and precision goes into this food; they also have amazing quality control and production.

Consistent quality and my dog loves it!
Iโve been using Royal Canin Size Health Nutrition for over a yea for my medium-sized boston terrier, and I can really see the difference. His coat looks shinier, sheโs more energetic, and her digestion has been great since switching. The kibble size is perfect โ not too big or small โ and she actually gets excited when I open the bag (which didnโt happen with her old food). The packaging reseals nicely, keeping it fresh, and I appreciate that the ingredients are tailored to size-specific needs rather than just a โone-formula-fits-allโ approach. Itโs definitely more expensive than supermarket brands, but the results and my dogโs health make it worth it.

Dogs seem to like this
My dog likes this, and thatโs half the battle. Itโs recommended by my vet.

Great food, even for my sensitive dogs, but craptacular bag
We now have three dogs on Royal Canin, our two and my dad's. All are rescues of unknown origin, so breed-specific isn't for us, but this plain old medium-dog works fine for all of them. My dad's little beagle-ish thing (Ollie) has been on a Purina product all his life, and did fine on it. However, we came for an extended visit and our dogs have food issues, so we had to put them all on the same thing, since they WILL eat out of any bowl they can get their snouts into. My border collie-ish thing (Lia) originally did fine on a Purina product as well, and never had any issues, but I got the Talking-To from the Dog People about slowly murdering my dog with it, so we tried Blue products. Those really did HURT her. The cattle dog-ish one (Charlie) just had soft stools, but Lia got weeping sores on her feet and ankles and didn't have a solid bowel movement for a month. We never thought of the food for the sores (panic attack over alleged ringworm instead), but took them both off. A while later, they both were a little constipated, and I still had some Blue around, so I threw it in the bowl. IMMEDIATELY Lia got sores on her feet and ankles again. No more Blue for us. We then used Nutro products for quite some time. Lia was always fine on those, but Charlie had reflux issues. Since we hadn't had him very long at that time, we thought it was just his stomach and had him on vet acid reducers. We ended up switching to RC because the kennel we used at the time for VERY frequent travel feeds RC, and it was frankly easier just to switch them than to haul our food so they could be fed something different to prevent switching back and forth. As it turns out, little Charlie has FAR fewer stomach issues and no longer needs the medicine. Ollie is an older guy with some arthritis and allergy issues. He seems to do better generally on the RC, and has more energy. It's a large-ish size kibble for medium dogs in my opinion, but I'm assuming there's some reason for that - perhaps they need to actually crunch the kibble in order to help clean their teeth or some such thing. The bag annoys me to no end. It's allegedly resealable. It is NOT, at least not without a great deal of time and trouble. If I'm paying $50 for a bag of dog food, you can put a decent zipper on the top. Basically, prospective buyers, you WILL need a bag clip for this, and a large one at that since the bag material is pretty inflexible.

All the vets like this, too
Our three puppies have been loyal customers for years. Every time we go to a wellness checkup, all the vets have only good things to say about their products. Even better, affordable price.

Perfect Nutrition for My Labradoodle!
My Labradoodle is now five years old, and sheโs been eating Royal Canin since the very beginning! I love that it's formulated specifically for medium-sized adult dogs, with all the right nutrients to support her joints, digestion, and overall health. The kibble size is perfect for her; they are not too small, not too large. Best of all, sheโs never had digestive issues that I hear about from other doodle owners. She has a thick, curly coat that can be high-maintenance, but this food has made a huge difference in keeping it healthy, soft, and shiny. Yes, itโs a bit more expensive than store brands, but the long-term health benefits and peace of mind make it 100% worth it. If you have a Labradoodle, especially one with a curly coat, I canโt recommend this food enough!
