- Raksha bandhan is a hindu ancient festival which celebrates the bond of love and duty between brother and sister. On the day of raksha bandhan the sister would tie a scared thread known as rakhi around her brother's wrist. She would also tie a rakhi to someone who she considers as a brother such as a cousin. The brother in return will give his sister a gift and to symoblise her protection. Traditionally the brother and sister will feed each other sweets which is still performed today.
