As part of the Gripple Universal Plant Support System these strong, reusable Joiners have been designed to remove the need for twisting & knotting of support wire which can cause weak points. Review: Brilliant, practical gardening aid - These are a fantastic addition to the gardener's armoury. The system is a bit pricey, but it really works and stays put once in place. I have found that you can go back and re-tighten any that have loosened over time, meaning that they always hold their tension beautifully. They are really easy to use and with a bit of effort, easy to tighten (sometimes easier with 2 people to make sure you get the tension right). Even better than that, you can re-use the tensioner if you want to. You just feed the wire through until it is released and then use the tensioner again with new wire in a different location. This has been very useful to us when a plant no longer needs support or the tensioning wire needs to be put in a different place around the plant. I don't just use them to train fruit and veg on a cordon, I have also found they are brilliant for holding back shrubs which have been forced out of their normal position by wind or snow. All you need is a couple of anchor points and the job is done. They also protect large shrubs from wind damage by wrapping a length of the wire round the stems and branches of the whole plant, encompassing the fragile part. The plastic wire doesn't deteriorate in any way and the whole thing stays in the same condition as the day you put it in place regardless of what the weather has thrown at them - fabulous! Highly recommended, practical and last for a long time - and in a bulk pack, they are even more economical. Review: Expensive but SO SO good. - Expensive but SO SO good. I wouldn't use another product for attaching tensioned cables to a fence or wall now. Note - you need the corresponding plastic cable to use with these.

So easy to use
Perfect - so much easier than rigging up a bamboo support. You can get a good amount of tension on the wires and Iโm happy itโs sturdy enough for my espalier apple tree. I ordered extra gripplers to have enough for one at each end of the wire.

Absolutely brilliant bits of kit for putting training 'cords' up
Absolutely brilliant bits of kit for putting training 'cords' up. I bought the full kit years ago, and accidentally cut one of the cords when I was pruning, have now reattached both ends and tightened up the whole system as a result. For the first timer...READ AND FOLLOW the instructions! (I didn't and as a result spent hours repairing my mistakes). To see how they work get a small bit of line and push it into the big hole, then use pliers to pull that end through...you CANNOT pull it back. Once you've done that the rest is easy (even my wife can do it!!!)

MAGNIFISCENT PLANT SUPPORT SYSTEM
The gripple system for putting up tensioned wires for plants is magnificent. Easy to use and brilliantly effective. You need to buy the appropriate wire and vine eyes also, but if you want to string wires along a wall as plant supports you will not be disappointed.
