The Pool Activity Level (PAL) Instrument for occupational profiling is extremely benefical in providing sensory-based, person-centered treatment intervention to individuals with cognitive impairment. As an occupational therapist working in a state psychiatric hospital setting using sensory-based treatment intervention strategies have been paramount in providing the clinical and direct care staff with activity tools to prevent emotional stress and dysregulation.

I haven't studied this as yet but at first glance it looks very useful and has some very practical ideas.

Good book for OTs working in the field of dementia. Nicely laid out and easy to understand

Exceptionally useful tool. I am an occupational therapist and have seen the checklist used in isolation in individual care plans of care home residents which is wrong as alone, it offers no guidance for carers. An excellent and user friendly tool when used as described in the book. Can be used to support caregivers of people living in their own homes or in care homes.

Bought for use in LD specialism. Some good transferable ideas with assessments and sample plans included.

not for me wife needed it for work,but its just the reference book for the nursing people.

In explaining this book to others I realised how useful it is for people working with those with a cognitive impairment. Really good.
