A Very Good Start for Getting a Starter Started
This worked well. It produced a strong and active starter in just a few of days. I followed the instructions with a little twist - I used 1/2 bread flour and 1/2 rye flour to ensure it had a bit more energy (the US takes away a lot of the nutrients from wheat flour for some reason). To get the starter established, I used the ratios suggested in the instructions, and within 3 days I had a strong active starter. I did a daily maintenance for two additional days just to be sure that it was established before using. For maintenance/feeding, I shifted away from the 1:1:1 ratio suggested in the instructions to a 1:2:2 ratio using 25 g starter, 50g water, 50g of flour mix (25g wheat flour+25g rye flour) for the weekly feeding and after use recovery and it is thriving. The resulting bread was well-formed with a good crumb, nice crust and a mild sourdough flavor.

Healthy and Strong Starter after 7 days
After having ordered this over a year ago, I finally got around to starting my own sourdough starter. I ran 3 tests, one with the culture and two without. After they all reached day 7, I started feeding the culture half AP/half WW, one of the non cultures AP and the other Bread Flour. The one with the culture thrived and survived, consistently doubling/tripling within 4-6 hours, while the all AP no culture did not really rise and ended up dying, the bread flour rose, but not as quickly as the culture. Overall, this culture is great! The instructions were clear overall and after 7 days, my starter went crazy and is doing great! Iโve added pictures of normal bread and cinnamon bread Iโve made with it.

Great product and amazing company!
I followed the instructions but was having problems with the sourdough starter rising. Itโs bubbly and active, just not rising. I emailed the company and the OWNER got back to me almost immediately. She was kind, helpful, and patient. She ended up calling me to troubleshoot and Iโm so impressed with the customer service I experienced with KneadAce. The starter is great. The problem was user error. Great product (that is working now,) and AMAZING customer service. Highly recommend supporting this brand.

Made sourdough bread successfully for the first time!
A few years ago I watched a bunch of Youtube videos on sourdough starters/bread/etc but got overwhelmed with the process of making my own starter. I came across this product recently and decided to give it a shot. I followed the instructions and after about 5 days I attempted my first ever loaf of sourdough bread (followed a recipe by Grant Bakes on youtube). It came out perfectly! I made a second loaf today and it came out beautifully as well. Very pleased with this starter, it's easy to make your own but if you're like me and find the process daunting, this makes it a lot faster and simpler!

READ THIS IF YOUR A NEWBIE!!
I wanted to come on here and leave a REAL review to follow. I am a complete newbie with sourdough and have been wanting to test my hand at it. I went through and bought everything I needed and the recommended tools to have on hand. I even bought the kneadace pro jar. I bought this dehydrated starter instead of making my own to make things easier and so I wouldnโt lose hope if my starter didnโt make it. Anyway this arrived Friday, once I got it I immediately dove it. My advice keep a small journal to write each day down, what you do/changes, USE A SCALE and throw out the cloth cover and only use the silicone!! Day 1 I started the starter around 2pm mixed with water. STIR STIR STIR. keep stirring. Make sure the room isnโt too cold. I put mine in the warmest spot of the house and it was around 75 degrees the whole time. So directions say wait 3 hours. Donโt do that, wait until thereโs no more flakes and they are all dissolved. ONCE all flakes are dissolved do your first feed of flour. I use King Arthur organic. Stir well and Cover with silicone lid and wait 24 hours. Day 2 after 24 hours feed your starter again this time with both 90 grams of flour and 90 grams of water. Use a scale for all measurements!! Mix good and cover again with the silicone lid. Wait 24 hours. After this feeding my starter was sitting at the 250ml line. Day 3 I woke up to check my starter and holy heck she had already rose to 500ml and still going strong. She smelled amazing and had lots of bubbles. Let it continue to rise. A few hours later, I checked and she was up to 750ml the highest peak and super bubbly. It more than tripled!! I waited and let it fall back down. Once it was fallen, I transferred all of the starter into a new jar and washed my starter jar thoroughly. Then I discarded all but 90 grams of starter into the clean jar. Then fed 90 & 90 of water and flour. Stirred and covered. The discard was about 200 grams. You can put it in the fridge and use it for discard recipes, throw it out, or turn it into a second jar of active starter. If you do choose to keep it as a second starter make sure to feed it before you put it in the fridge. Youโre going to cover your starter jar and let it sit out on the counter continuing to feed it and discard until your ready to bake. I will say last night when I fed it again, my starter rose much faster, it more then doubled and had already fallen when I woke up this morning. Itโs So bubbly, healthy and thriving. She smells great. I canโt wait to bake with her. Once I do bake Iโll come back and update my review with those results. But I have a feeling everything will turn out great and delicious. PS make sure to name your starter! Mines named Dumbledough lol

Did not work! Update:They sent me another!!
At first, a funny smell. Day two it was gray looking and did not smell like sourdough starter. Third day it had some mold growing on it so I threw it out. I hope the seller can refund me or possibly replace it. I donโt know if The other pack that I got with it is of the same quality. . Not a very good starter. Probably will try the 2nd pack, Then move on. Hereโs the review update. They sent me another package of this to try. I havenโt as of yet, but I can change the review some and up the number of stars. Thanks for sending again

12 days in, still not activated
I gotta give it to them, their customer service is great. But itโs been over 12 days since i started the process and still dont have an active starter. I really have followed all the recommendations to the tea but still no luck. Im upset i paid so much money for nothing. Definitely not fast activating as they say.

Worked Well? Not expecting that
Honestly very impressed I did not expect it to rise day 3 I thought it would take a couple more days but not only rose but it doubled! I tried the breadtopia one as I used that before to make a 'quick' starter but this time around it failed. Even with the breadtopia one it did not rise or smell correctly for a couple days. Will try to not forget about the starter in the fridge this time but if I do I know which one I am trying first! Also note I used warm water idk if I call it hot or Luke warm to dissolve stuff since people said it is hard to dissolve. And I just kept it by my rice cooker as it was keeping left over rice warm at a constant 25-26 which probably helped. Did do the same thing for the other brand as well but did not take off and buttery bacteria took over UPDATE: it still is good but the smell like a young starter like acetone so can't use right away. But it doubles very quickly so probably still need a couple days before baking
