surprisingly, it works quite well.
kind of surprising, it actually works quite well. it really does make a flashlight into a very usable lantern. why buy a separate lantern? I put it on a standard squarish bike light with an 18650 battery. that size of light. it's a bit difficult to get on but it worked fine and I can do it easily now that I have the hang of it. highly recommended.

Diffuses very well. Makes a good tent light.
Diffuses the light. A bit of dimming but not bad. I use this on a flashlight that has a very narrow beam. With the diffuser there is almost no hot spot. It works well for a tent light. Not so well for walking. This diffuser fits a 2AA Maglite and other similar size flashlights.

Does the job
Works just as described. There will be a central hot spot but that is unavoidable with this style of diffuser. I recommend using this with the flashlight on a low setting because the dispersal is not the same as that of a lantern. Good value overall.
