Planetary Design Airscape Stainless Steel Coffee Canister | Food Storage

Functional, aesthetic, and luxury. This is the coffee canister of my dreams. It can hold obviously more than just coffee beans, but the airtight seal lid coupled with the top sealing lid is just incredibly effective at preserving my freshly roasted whole beans in a satisfyingly heavy solid stainless steel metal container that is gorgeous to look at and keeps my beans fresh FOREVER. I loved it so much I have two and I just saw they came out with clear glass walled versions and my heart stopped. The size I chose comfortably holds just over 1lb of whole coffee beans. The lid is very easy to actually use and has am expensive satisfying feel to it when using it. I learned also you can write on these containers with those erasable chalk pens to label your contents which is very fun and cute.

This is the second AirScape coffee canister that I have purchased. I purchased this one because I was so pleased with the air tightness of the product. The design of the lid system is unique in that the inner lid forces air out and the outer lid prevents the introduction of other materials. The canister body is made of stainless steel so it is durable and should last a lifetime time. I chose this size to store ground coffee. It is just the right size to hold an 18 ounce bag of ground coffee. The copper color is appealing though I might have preferred matte black to match the larger AirScape canister in which I store whole bean coffee. Because of the quality of the product and its unique design, I believe it is a good value. It should enhance my coffee drinking experience.

These are great - very good airtight seal to keep my espresso beans fresh. Can hold about half of a large 2.2 lb bag of beans (so I assume about 1lb). Double seal mechanism: an inside lid that slides down to minimize dead space, and another lid to cover the top. Inner seal has a folding handle that doubles as a vacuum release/lock for ease of sealing and opening (easy to use). Stainless interior is easy to clean. I have two of these in different colors: brushed copper and white. Finish is nice, and they stack to minimize counter space. Have not noticed any strange odors, my espresso beans maintain their normal beautiful scent! If I ever need more airtight cannisters, I would certainly return to Planetary Design.

I just purchased two more size medium Airscapes on Prime Day. I purchased my first one a while ago in hopes of being able to save money when coffee goes on sale. At this price point I was hoping it was worth it. It has proven itself. Even the smell as you pull out the plunger is like fresh roasted. The container and elements are of solid material. I chose matte white to make it disappear. But boy those other colors look great. Item arrived packaged well with no damage. Noticed this has become an issue with shipping from retailers. So far no regrets.

I’m so glad I saw the sale on this canister. I love getting that freshly roasted smell of coffee when I pull open the seal. The size was as I’d hoped, as it holds my one pound of Peet’s whole bean coffee. The seal is easy to close and the canister keeps my coffee beans fresh and ready for grinding. Bonus that it looks so nice on the counter, too - no large label or graphic staring out at me.

This keeps my coffee grounds airtight, I love it and the color red matches my kitchen appliances perfectly.

I ordered the Planetary Design Airscape Stainless Steel Coffee Cannister to store fresh ground coffee. It does the job well. My coffee stays fresh for over a week or more. My only complaint is the canister itself is made of very thin stainless steel without the heft of other coffee canisters. It isn’t a deal breaker though.

Very versatile storing coffee, cookies, chips etc. Cool appearance. Inner lid fits tight but the air reales and CO2 venting valve had changed since the previous generation. The top outer lid has also changed deleting the air escape valve altogether meaning gas that is vented past the inner lid is still trapped under the top. Another apparent change is the thickness of the sidewalls seems thinner than the previous generation, maybe 1/2 the thickness. Although better than common jars, these are very expensive for a storage container. I understand that the rubber seals do not behave correctly in the freezer which is the ideal method to store overstock of fresh coffee beans. In the end, this container is good, but at the price and considering there are better proven methods for bean storage, not sure I’d buy it again for my low volume coffee consumption

It’s a little expensive for what it does. Got it when there was a credit card promo. Is well made but can’t prove whether vacuum works. The air does get pushed out but is the inner lid staying in place due to friction of silicon or the pressure difference?Silicon seal for top cover seems a little uneven on one side. Seems airtight although it lifts a touch when picking up container by the lid. Certainly more convenient scooping beans vs from the bag. Will have to see how it holds up with regular opening and closing.

Highly engineered and nice fit and finish. Love the sheen on this bronze paint. Apart from looking good, the size and function is perfect. The beans I use are susceptible to drying out quickly. This canister works really well in keeping my coffee beans fresh throughout the several days it takes to use them up. Coffee extraction on the last day is the same as day 1. Very pleased.

Whilst the product is well designed the soft padded envelope used for shipment was inadequate. The canister arrived with a dent near the bottom. This is the strongest point of the container. It must have received a good whack. Pity.

After a couple of weeks using it, I'm happy with the purchase. The container feels solid and the beans smell great. The capacity is enough to store 500g of beans, not much more.
