Nearly indistinguishable, good replacement.
Slightly smaller dimensions than the OEM one but otherwise indistinguishable, works great, charges the laptop.

Required For High-End Laptops.
I wanted another charger to travel with my new Omen laptop. I was looking for something smaller and lighter in weight than the charger that came with it. I chatted with a customer service representative from HP and discovered that the only way to charge my new Omen laptop was with one of these very large and heavy 230W chargers. Even with the laptop turned off, it will not charge the battery with a lower wattage charger. I just went with this one because it is an OEM charger from HP. As such, it works just like the one that came with the laptop. I have no complaints besides the fact that it is very large and heavy.

Only worked for a couple months
I bought this as a replacement for the original charger that came with my Omen 16 laptop. The original one, after a couple months, stopped charging my laptop while it was on, and would only charge while the laptop was off. So, on the advice of the Geek Squad (after much troubleshooting) I bought this replacement charger from Amazon. Lo and behold, a couple months after buying this replacement, the same thing is now happening. Again. It will not charge the laptop while it is on, and as I write this, isn’t even charging the laptop while it is off.Complete waste of money. This charger just sucks. Period. The pin that connects to the laptop is flimsy and moves around too much, so after a couple of months of rotating around all the time, it can’t transmit power to the laptop any longer. If this is happening to you, your only options are to either replace the charger every couple months, or buy a different laptop that uses a better charger.

It charges My Omen 16-wd0063dx
At the time I purchased my HP Omen laptop (16-wd0063dx), I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a suitable spare charger. Even HP doesn't have one directly on their site. I also didn't realize there'd be so many variations based on the model/vintage....even among the same power class there's several different tip types/sizes. That said, I took a chance a got this one. The description wasn't exact to spec, but it checked enough boxes....power, amps, 3mm tip size. Turns out the charger tip DOES fit my Omen and the charger DOES charge my laptop. My only real concern is that I always get a a warning message when I plug it in: "Low-power power source detected. Your computer will run in reduced performance mode and may not charge. Use of the original power adapter is recommended". While this chare does indeed charge, I wonder if I'm doing irreparable harm to the battery and/or electronics by using. It does seem to charge slower than the original, but not so much so that it's prohibitive....and if leaving the laptop for a period of time to charge (say overnight) you wouldn't even notice. I don't like that the product photos show an actual HP-logoed charger, when in fact it is a generic off brand. This is misleading and deepens my concerns about the integrity of the charger and what it could/may be doing to my laptop. So far, no issues...and I hope that remains the case. But I will certainly update my review should something develop like shortened battery life or compromised circuitry.

The only solution if you need a replacement
It's hard to find a unused OEM version of this charger and you can never really trust a used charger so I was excited to try this out and see how it matched up to an original. I couldn't have been more pleased with this charger. This fit perfectly and did not return any power errors. It felt like it actually took less time to charge than the original charger but that could be because it's brand new. The materials and construction were just as good as the original charger and didn't seem to reach any higher temps after extended use. This is the clear choice if you need a new one of these.

Great 2nd cable
I have a friend that has (3) power supplies for his laptop. One for his home desk, one for travel, and one his work desk. I thought that was a little overkill. Then I got an additional power supply just for my backpack. Wow, suddenly I was never without a power supply! What a stress reliever! The cabling on this is more robust than the original, which given it's the same manufacturer, was surprising.I did find it odd that the power supply didn't come in an HP box. Possibly because this was designed for the UK or Chile? I would think UK would have a different power cord to allow for power usage in the UK.My ZBook is very picky about power, and this one works as expected. I'm glad now I have this spare to keep at a "2nd office" location that I use on a regular basis. And once again, I'll always have power when I need it,, my original will stay at home, and one in my backpack ready for use as needed.
